We were walking down Duval and this placed seemed like a great spot to dine. They offer an intimate patio setting right on top of Duval. The service was very good but the food was very average. There are a few other Mexican food options on Duval, I would choose one of those others.
My husband aand I have just gotten back from Key West and during our stay we ate at Olde Town Mexican Cafe twice! We went there for dinner and it was so good. The waitress was so nice and the service was excellent. When we woke up the next day we decided to go back again for lunch. Both of us ordered soft tacos. The salsa was awesome too!!! Plus they have a really good deal on buckets of beer. It was $10.00 for 5 bottles. We will definitely go back on our next trip.
We were the only people in the restaurant when we went. The tea was instant and old, the table wobbled and the waiter got our order wrong even though there were only 2 of us! Not the greatest experience I've had. The food was good, but not great. I would avoid this place.
I tried this place multiple times to give it the benefit of the doubt and finally came to the conclusion is just not a good place to eat. Try it if you will, but you have been warned. Go to Chico's or Salsa Loca instead.
We saw their ad on Key TV and decided to go there. I had the steak fajitas and she had the beef machaka. Good stuff. Very good service and moderate prices.
