“Unique combination of history & natural beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2014 NEW

The Key West Garden Club landscapes and maintains this historic fort. The combination of gardens and old brick architecture is haunting and completely unique. It is free (donation appreciated) and right on a nice wide bike trail making it a beautiful, relaxing stop near Higgs Beach.

“Martello history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2014 NEW

The tower is now open and local gardeners have filled the grounds with original fauna. The tower is such a big part of Key West history. It is beautiful and has the most fantastic view of the ocean.

“Free to see, but please donate to help out.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2014

Volunteers do keep the gardens up and they are beautiful. An old fort over looking the ocean. A great place to go during the small rain showers. Located at Higgs beach close to Salute restaurant. They do give out maps to get around the property. The people there are very friendly and full of information. Check it out!

Pretty sure this is where the Garden Club gardens are... free, which is always good and nice gardens and historical information.
