Catch the happy hours, you will enjoy more

My husband and I ordered drinks and appetizers during Happy Hour. We received excellent and prompt service. The buffalo shrimp are VERY hot, so beware! The cold, steamed spicy shrimp weren't very spicy but huge. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with a great view of the waterfront.

My wife and I were looking for a place for lunch and stumbled upon Alonzo's while walking along the waterfront. It was about 2 PM, sunny with a nice breeze. We were quickly seated outside on the deck and the waiter brought us our drinks...a glass of white wine and a local microbrewed beer. We ordered the lobster-crabcake and the Greek salad with grilled shrimp. Both were brought in a reasonable time and both were adequate, but nothing special. The shrimp seemed like the farm-raised stuff...not much taste...but the salad was good with plenty of feta cheese and kalamata olives over crisp lettuce. There was not much lobster with the crabcake, which was served over mashed potatoes with a corn-tomato salsa. Bottom line? An adequate lunch on a nice afternoon with a very nice view of the harbor and the boat slips. The service, for us, was very good.

We just happen to have a laptop with us this time, and I can review this restaurant while fresh in my mind. The food is pretty good overall. The conch fritters were tasty but greasy, and the only iced tea available was berry flavored. The service, however, was definitely lacking. We waited 10 minutes before we were acknowledged..and this was by the hostess and not the server. No refills on drinks. Server didn't inquire if our meals had arrived satisfactorily. Nice ambience on harbor. Very good Granny Smith coleslaw. Fish was fresh and well prepared. Would be hesitant to return based on poor service.
