“Huge disappointment!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014 NEW

We have been wanting to try this place for months but we can never seem to find time when we are in Key West because there are so many great places to eat. We finally made it a point to give Michaels a try. We have heard numerous times people raving about their fondue.
We figured it must be great since the have an entire menu dedicated to it. We sat at the bar since we knew we were just going to have a drinks and a snack. We all got a glass of wine and asked the bartender the recommendation on fondue since we had to narrowed down to two. She recommended the Chile Pepper one since it had a kick to it. We went with it. It came out with a HUGE plate of fruits, veggies, meats and anything you could ask for. We were so excited it looked amazing. Much to our disappointment it was AWFUL. It literally had zero flavor it just tasted like melted gruyere. It had no kick not even a hint of pepper. All three of us agreed. We maybe ate 25% of it and most of the just because we are the fruit off the plate. The bartenders never asked how it was. Even when the cleared the plate seeing the most of it was still left. We then got our check $86.00 for an appetizer and one glass of wine each for 3 people is ridiculous! Don't get me wrong I eat what I want regardless of the price because I love food. I really wish this was a better experience for food and service because the rest of the menu really looked incredible. But I really don't think I will be back, first impressions really say it all for me.

“Wonderful Dinner in a neighborhood setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014 NEW

This is a beautifully hidden restaurant in the middle of Key West within walking distance of the Westin, where we stayed. After speaking with the server, we all changed our previously determined meals and went with our Plan B options, and none of us were disappointed. The stuffed grouper and the veal chop were delicious, as was the petite filet. The atmosphere was informal and cheery. The family has proclaimed it the best place we ate at so far!

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

The ambience here was wonderful. Our server was helpful and attentive. We were given time to enjoy our meal however he was always available if we needed him! We had a large party and all were pleased. The red snapper is amazing and the desserts were delicious (we did lava cake and key lime pie). Absolutely to die for. A not miss for a quiet, 5 star meal away from the noise and action of Duval!

“Delicious Food, Fine Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

Our dining experience in Key West has been excellent, and Michaels continued that run. We love to enjoy fine dining, with white table cloths, good wine glasses, and excellent service, while dressed in Key West fashion with flip flops and shorts. Caroline, our server, was informed, friendly and attentive. We sat at an outside table and enjoyed the ambiance. I started with a berry chiller, a cranberry infused rum with ginger and an orange slice over ice. Refreshing and delicious! We ordered a reasonably priced Super Tuscan wine for my husband to enjoy with his strip steak -- an Ornellaia Le Volte. He declared the steak to be one of the best -- perhaps the best -- restaurant-prepared steaks he had eaten. We enjoyed appetizers of yellow beet salad and wedge salad, and I enjoyed the coconut shrimp and crabcake special appetizers as my main course. Both had side sauces with different spicy kicks that I enjoyed very much. We were tempted by dessert, but too full to go there!

“Great meal & atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

We ate here for my wife's bday dinner while In Key West. It was amazing! The food, the drinks, the service & dessert. I can't think of a negative thing to say, other than, make reservations asap when you want to go. It fills up fast. Will definitely eat here again when we visit.
