Wonderful meal & serve! We will go back!
of course I am biased but I love this place...the new bar menu is fantastic
"they have you hooked from hello" Michael and his wife Melanie take food and wine seriously. For the best mouth watering steak Michaels is a must!
GOOD FOOD!
Normal prices.
Very accomodating.
Michael's location is a nice getaway from the rowdiness of Duval Street. They have a beautiful outdoor dining area with trellises and a water feature. The bar is also outdoors. The indoor dining area is very intimate and more formal. We sat indoors to escape the heat.
We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation time and were seated promptly by a very friendly hostess.
My husband & I shared the seafood crepe upon our waiter's suggestion. It was out of this world!! Very creamy & rich. Jam packed with seafood. This was a perfect way to start our meal.
I ordered the 6oz filet medium rare. Our waiter had told us all of their steaks were flown in from Chicago and that that was their specialty. Now, when my filet came out it was very charred on the outside. The inside was right. I took a bite though and the charring overwhelmed the taste of the meat. Our waiter was very apologetic and took it back. He then returned to tell me that Michael was very sorry and that he would be cooking me another. Sure enough, before I knew it I had a brand new plate before. This time the filet was cooked PERFECTLY. It was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Delicious.
My husband ordered the seafood alfredo. It was amazing. The seafood (of which there was a ton - scallops, shrimp, mahi & one other fish) was extremely fresh. It was very heavy & creamy - you could tell the alfredo sauce was homemade. It was a huge portion!
As an "apology" they brought us out one of their chocolate volcanos. This was amazing, served with rich vanilla ice cream.
Our service throughout the night was excellent. The menu is pretty extensive. Michael's is somewhat pricey, but you are paying for what you get. They also have a pretty good wine list with not only wines by the glass and bottle, but also the half bottle.
This is not a place I would recommend for families with children. I saw no children while we were there.
I would definitely recommend Michael's to those looking for an upper scale fine dining experience in Key West.
