I take trips to the Keys several times a year because I teach scuba in North Florida so I have seen pretty much all of the Keys and experience most of the places.

This is a typical South Florida tourist crap that serves horrible food with horrible service at over inflated prices.

The Keys especially Key West have a plethora of these tourist trap restaurants with horrible service and over-inflated prices. Avoid the buffets in Key West; the health inspectors would cringe if they saw people actually eating that stuff. It is scary and several people that in my group that decided to try it, got sick.

My advice is Duval Street is good for drinking and partying and that’s about it.

We were staying at the Hyatt and stopped to look at the lunch menu outside the Hard Rock. A group of the Hard Rock cafe staff who were supervising the front of the restaurent (which was nearly completely empty) informed us that we couldn't sit outside (even though there were some other people sitting outside) and that also they didn't do ice cream (which they did, according to the menu). They were very cold and discourteous and referred us instead to a restaurant on the corner, which turned out to be a Wendy's. We found this very insulting and even saw them laughing at themselves as they turned away custom.
