Just returned from a 3 day 2 night weekday getaway at the Palm hotel, Key West. The hotel was cozy and in a fabulous location. The room was comfortable but a bit smaller than I had thought it would have been, but still in all a great value and not truely a problem since we didn't spend much time hanging out in the hotel room. It would have been great if the rooms had a little fridge & microwave. The pool was refreshing and enjoyed the lush plants that were surrounding the grounds. Carol at the front desk was wonderful. She gave us some tips and ideas for enjoying local activities, such as tours of the city. Both checking in/out was a breeze. We ended up taking a tour of the island via jet ski--highly recommended!

I am happy to report that this property defies its tripadvisor ranking and can recommend it to most people. Most of the previous complaints were due to previous ownership/management. The people running The Palms now offer excellent service.

The location is very good...close enough to walk to all areas of interest yet off the beaten touristic track. You can easily park your car at the hotel or surrounding neighborhood without a problem.

If you have a dog or dogs, then this is definitely your place. I'd say more than half of the people at the hotel are with their dogs and the hotel charges no kind of ridiculous pet charge. They also do not impose harsh night minimums like many other hotels in Key West.

The only warning that I have is, that if you are planning on staying in Suite 6 and plan to use the sofa bed on the first floor, I'd go ahead and pack yourself an air mattress because it's awful. I spoke to management about it and they were very responsive but we have agreed to disagree on the comfort level of the sofa bed.

Overall, the hotel is nothing fancy but it's clean, well located, offers good service, great pet policies, no night minimums, and is reasonable by Key West standards.

I have 2 golden retrievers and had a hard time finding a place that would allow large dogs. I was soooo lucky to find the Palms. Not only did they allow my dogs, but the suite I stayed in was just incredible! Lush green tropical plants all around as well as beautiful flowers. And they have large bird cages (houses) with lots of birds that were constantly singing ! Really made it a tropical paradise! I loved the birds!

we had a great stay, it was lush around the pool, and they gave you a great breakfast, we took our dog, and he had a great time.
rooms were alittle small but very clean, and the staff was very freindly and very helpful, for all your needs. would stay there again.
