4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

Arrived late. Very helpful fellow at the desk, Rooms and bathrooms were nicely appointed and updated; retaining charm with modern feel, Very clean and located well! Three separate, period houses make up the housing. Breakfast and pool area are very comfortable and intimate.

We stayed in room 2 in the main house. It is located on the first floor and is a large room with a nice bath that has a walk in shower. The room has plenty of storage with an armour and dresser. One wall has built in bookshelves.

Breakfast and an afternoon social are included with the room. Breakfast had a hot selection that changed each day. The afternoon social had a drink of the days and varied snacks.

The staff work hard to please everyone. Dennis and Scott were very helpful and make sure all your needs are met.

This hotel has a great location-close to Duval St, Mallory Square and many great restaurants.

We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for Fantasy Fest 2013. We were in room 12, which is on the 1st floor in the pink house on Simonton St. Big room and BIG bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful, no complaints. Breakfast was pretty good; usual pastries and cereal, but they always had one hot item. Happy hour had a different item each night, not a bunch of items to choose from, just one. And each night had a particular drink. For example, our 1st night was roasted nuts and Bloody Marys. The pool area is nice. The only thing is it's surrounded by couches and plants. There can only be like three people lay out in the sun. My advice; get rid of the plants and couches, and put out lounge chairs to accommodate more people.

Room Tip: No elevator, so if you don't want steps, ask for main floor. Also, if you've never been, you...

We wanted to stay in Key West for 2 nights and chose Cypress House after reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor. It is in a perfect position for visiting Duval Street, Mallory Square and Sunset pier, close enough to everything but quiet being 1 block off Duval. It seems to be family run and everyone we encountered was so friendly and welcoming and they even lent me a phone charger as I had left mine at the hotel in Key Largo the previous night! We chose to take up their offer of a car park about 5 blocks away and paid about $20 a day to leave our car there. Otherwise there is on street parking at meters but as you won't need your car during your visit the car park was the best value. From 5pm until 6pm the hotel runs a happy hour by the pool offering a different cocktail and nibbles daily. During our stay we had key lime coolers, chips and salsa and then sangria served with a smoked fish dip and crudités. I'm surprised more people don't turn up for these free drinks but maybe it was just a little quiet in the hotel at that time. The hotel is in about 3 buildings along the street so it's hard to know how many people are staying at one time. The rooms are stylishly furnished and have hardwood flooring and smart decor. All in all its in a great spot for visiting all that's great about Key West and you will be made to feel very welcome.

I stayed here with my family at end of Sept and was pleased it really was 3 blocks to the main drag (Duvall St) and close to the historic seaport. We had a sunset sail the evening we arrived and were happy to have had time for a cocktail first. Cocktail hour at the Cypress is poolside, nightly and posted each day with an appetizer to compliment. The breakfast is more than "Continental" and I was impressed with the selection. The room was in the main house on the 3rd floor, and was nicely decorated, clean and the bed very comfy. The bathroom was huge and appeared clean with simple modern décor. I had to share a King bed with my Aunt but it was a generous size and I slept like a log. We chose Key West to celebrate my father's 85th birthday, and I'm so glad it was everything (and more) that I had hoped! I would definitely return to this beautiful place.

Room Tip: We stayed in main house 3rd (top floor). Good A/C but the stairs are rough if you are not in good sh...

We visited the Cypress House with our family and had 3 rooms, two in the main house and one in the annex in the back. All the rooms were GREAT! We had small refrigerators so we could keep drinks cold. Breakfast was your typical continental breakfast, but was nice. In the afternoons they had drinks and snacks. The location was great....easy walking to everything.

We'd stayed in their sister inn a number of years ago, the Key Lime Inn and found both to be excellent places to stay!

My wife and I just came back from 4 great days at the Cypress House. 2 Blocks off Duval St and 3 blocks from the marina area. So close to all the action but very quiet at night. Great bedroom with a king bed, really clean, swimming pool, breakfast every morning, snacks and cocktails every evening. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful with anything you may ask. Thanks to Chris for all his help in making our stay the greatest.

We go down to Key West every October and have never stayed in the same place twice but all that has changed we will be back!!!

Room Tip: Room # 12, corner room, recently renovated, king bed and a huge shower.
