Just returned from 2 fantastic weeks with wife as guests at Atlantis House. Thanks to Tripadvisor's many reviewers, who I followed for months, this was the place to stay in Key West. Captain Steve and Kayla provide everything you need and go above and beyond to make sure you have the best trip. The location is perfect, away from the noise of Duval yet only a nice little bike ride on provided bikes to get anywhere. Across street from bike/running/walking path which was perfect for some daily exercise which is needed due to the great food in Key West and also being a little 'overserved' with nightly libations. Also right between two beaches steps away - Higgs and Smathers. The room, we stayed in the Master suite, is incredible, 600 sq ft, king bed large flat screen, large hot tub which we used daily. Spotless, eclectic and other than the stray rooster, quiet as can be. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker with provided coffee/tea. SO NICE !!!! Again, the best part - Steve and Kayla. While we had a fantastic time and visiting many great restaurants and bars, the best dinner (fresh fish dip, lobster app- much bigger and tastlier than the dinner lobster at Lattitudes and this was just an app- squash soap,fresh green salad, coconut ginger rice, fresh bar jack fish - the fish and lobster caught by Steve days before, we both love fish/seafood and have had it many places and this was the best we have ever had, and key lime pie or bread pudding to die for,which we've never had better, ended with espresso and WOW !! the best lunch, fesh caught hogfish sandwich, again WOW !!, the best day, eco trip with Captain Steve and Kayla on his spotless 19ft boat out to boca grande about 16 miles to when we arrived a beautiful secluded deserted beach. All with Steve and Kayla enlightening us with info about the area. When we wanted to get away, the back garden was a beautiful exotic peaceful garden. We could not have had a better stay or found a nicer place and hosts. Their 20 years of being on Key West is invaluable for advise and quidance and you will not find two nicer people.

p.s. while we stayed in the Master suite we got to see the Garden Suite and it too was beautifully decorated, we would not hesitate for a second to stay there. Plenty big enough for us.

Everything that everyone says about Kayla and Steve is true-best key lime pie, very helpful, and genuinely hospitable people. It would be wonderful if every establishment could be this inviting. We loved the beautiful garden area. Thanks to Steve for the delicious Hogfish sandwich. This sets the standard for fish sandwiches. We will be back. Both of us agreed that Key West was more than we ever expected, thanks to Kayla and Steve.

We spent a week in Key West with hosts Steve and Kayla on the quite side of town at Atlantis House. The beautiful, well-tended garden is a great place to relax between activities. Steve offered lots of advice on restaurants and nightlife. And Kayla's key lime pie beat all the restaurant pies we tried. We used the complimentary bikes to go everywhere. Go with this small inn - much more personal than the downtown hotels and motels.

There are only two rooms here, we had the Master Suite with bar area and jacuzzi. The room was beautiful, we slept so well - it was so quiet! The backyard patio area is gorgeous and very relaxing. Steve and Kayla are amazing hosts - if Kayla has made her key lime pie during your stay you are in for a real treat. Seriously, it was the best I had in Key West. I really can't say enough good things, we really loved it here.

Some things to consider, the location is a bit from Duval Street but not too far that getting there is an issue. We loved being off the main drag because it was so quiet. We rode the free bikes Steve and Kayla offered everywhere and could easily get to Duval Street and all the restaurants. If you are not in riding bikes everywhere and are not keen on having to drive while on vacation in Key West, the location may pose some issues for you. We really had no trouble with it at all, the bikes take you everywhere you need to go in about 5-15 minutes.

Higgins Beach is very close, easily walkable (it's beyond Rest Beach, which isn't conducive to sitting out). Higgins beach is a public beach so keep that in mind, it's not a secluded private area. But it is a beautiful beach and we enjoyed it.

Also keep in mind if this is your first trip to Key West that there is a homeless population, and you will see some homeless folks occasionally on your biking treks. But we never once felt the slightest bit unsafe or uncomfortable, I just mention it so folks aren't surprised. Everyone was always friendly and kind - it must be the Key West lifestyle.

Louie's Backyard is very close - great bar right on the water.

I highly recommend this place for couples who want a quiet, relaxing and personal Key West experience. But if being off the beaten path isn't your style, this may not be your ideal place.
