“Best of the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

My wife and I stayed in the Master Suite at Atlantis House for five nights in early October. I can’t say enough nice things about the place.

Our first indication that we were in for something special was the courtesy call we received from Kayla ensuring we had the address, directions, etc. We were greeted by both Steve and Kayla (and Nemo, the canine good will ambassador) when we arrived. They took the time to find out what our plans were and gave us recommendations for places to eat, attractions to see, and overall advice on how to make the most of our stay.

Then on to the Master Suite where we were shown all of the amenities…and there are many. I can honestly say that I’ve never felt as comfortable and at home while on vacation before. The room is quiet, intimate and beautifully decorated. The bathroom is amazing…like having your own personal spa. The Jacuzzi tub was a nice way to end each day.

Steve & Kayla (our hosts) made sure we had everything we needed. They were friendly and open, and were happy to chat and share their experiences living in Paradise. We took their recommendations on attractions and several restaurants. Their advice was spot on.

I was fortunate to be able to book a fishing trip on Steve’s boat. Coming from the west coast, I was interested in seeing how my Atlantic brethren do it. Steve was a gracious and patient teacher. Under his guidance I hooked many, lost many (my fault), landed some, and kept a few. It was great fun, and a memory I won’t soon forget.

The capper to our trip was the dinner we had with Steve and Kayla. This was gourmet cooking to be sure (and all locally caught). Lobster appetizers and a black grouper main course followed up by an amazing, home made, key lime pie. The food, drink and conversation made for a fantastic evening.

We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Master Suite has a large (multi person) Jacuzzi tub. Definately worth it!

Firstly...Thank you Steve and Kayla for a pleasant experience with all the personal touches.

Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, catered to the enth degree and so personal, without even a hint of claustrophobia.

Offered a beer or Wine on arrival and a SMACKINGLY good serve of Key lime pie...

Small things like the Hot tub cleaned daily, and Organic Egyptian Towels really make a huge difference...

A lot of thought and effort went into this litle set up and it REALLY SHOWS....Thanks for a great weekend....

I don't believe I have done this review justice....

Room Tip: The large suite was AMAZING!!

Our stay was at the Atlantis House was fantastic.
Very close to the beach
Nice private pool within 50 feet
Great location - not in the middle of Duval, but a very short drive or bike ride away. The bikes provided by Steve and Kayla can get you anywhere you want to go in about 10 - 15 minutes of riding.
The rooms were great - we traveled with a couple staying in the adjoining room - well decorated and provided more ammenities than a regular hotel would provide. Comfortable beds, iphone docking stations, great trobpical porch to relax on.
What truly makes this place are Steve and Kayla. They recommend places to go, offer to take you where you need and are geniune people who want to ensure your trip is enjoyable. They have 18 years knowledge of Key West - they know what to do and where you should go. All the other comments about Kayla's pie are correct, it was wonderful - and I am not a big key lime fan.
The Atlantis House is definitely a place I would stay again if I make it back to Key West. We only stayed 3 days (and 1 day was rainy) so we didn't get a chance to take advantage Cap'n Steve's fishing or snorkeling trips but I would assume they are first class - everything else we experienced at Atlantis House was!
Thanks for a great anniversay stay.

We went to Key West to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Our stay at Atlantis house has given us wonderful memories of our time there. Capt. Steve and Kayla took us on a private sunset cruise for our anniversary--complete with champagne, grapes, cheese & crackers. It was such a lovely time and so awesome to learn about the island from your own personal guides. We stayed 5 nights in the Garden Room, then 2 nights in the Master Suite. Both were wonderful, but wow, the Master Suite is huge. We loved the jacuzzi tubs. We had the continental breakfast four mornings in the beautiful garden. The food was fresh and arranged delightfully. On the other mornings, we ate in restaurants suggested by Kayla and we loved all of them. We also enjoyed a dinner in Steve and Kayla's dining room with them and the other couple staying at Atlantis. The gourmet meal was cooked by Steve and Kayla and it was great. More enjoyable than the meal was the time talking and relaxing with them. I can't think of any thing they could have done to make our stay here any better. It was amazing!!! I forgot to mention the beds--They were so comfortable and we are picky about beds.

Ever visit a place and wonder how good a time you could really have if you just had a good local buddy to tell you where to visit, where to eat, what to do, what to avoid? And then he takes you and your wife out fishing for the day to his favorite spot on the reef. Then he and his wife cook your catch, along with some lobster and of course, that pie! Throw in a spacious, cool suite with wet-bar, hot-tub and every amenity, and an incredible tropical garden with turtles, iguanas and nine kinds of palm tree. Oh, and a shady swimming pool, right next to the ocean. How about a massage?
Steve and Kayla were relaxed, friendly and supremely helpful. It was our first trip to Key West, and they made it a vacation to remember. If you want an anonymous hotel room with $8 bottles of water, go to NYC. For a real vacation, this is the place...

Room Tip: We splurged on the Master Suite for 5 nights. No regrets.

I'd always wanted to stay at a place like this. With just two suites, Atlantis House is cozy, personal, and very mindfully appointed. Steve and Kayla are fantastic hosts; they are willing and ready to help you have a nautical adventure, a soothing massage, or the best Key Lime Pie in Key West (Kayla's), but they also give you the space to enjoy the slice of paradise they've created in your room and the gardens right outside your door. My husband and I spent five days in the Master Suite and loved the funky decor. We were grateful for all the amenities you'd expect in a larger luxury hotel -- a comfy bed, impressive shower, jacuzzi, fridge and microwave, television and iPod player. But in a big hotel, you'd never have such a lavish tropical garden, so beautifully designed, for you and perhaps one other couple, right outside your doorstep. Free use of bicycles was also a major advantage. It saved us money on a car rental, helped us work off the food and drink we were enjoying, and made me feel like a kid again. I'm going to start riding my bike more back at home, it was so fun. Atlantis House is a 10-minute bike ride from the revelry of Duval Street. You'll never be deprived of it, but you don't have to hear it all night. Beaches are a short walk away, and Steve will advise you well on other great sights and restaurants to visit. We really loved Key West and plan to come back, staying at Atlantis House again if we can wedge our way in!
By the way, there's also a lovely pool overlooking the ocean. We were too busy to ever take a dip, but it looked delicious.

Our stay with Steve and Kayla at Atlantis exceeded our expectations. They did everything possible to make our vacation perfect. The Master Suite was elegant and romantic. The food was 5-star; soup with parmesan toast, chilled lobster appetizer, stuffed yellow tail, Kayla's amazing key lime pie, espresso after dinner, and more. Our snorkeling trip with them included a secluded island beach visit, dolphins swimming around the boat, lunch on the boat, snorkeling over a beautiful coral reef, and an eco tour of the area. Riding the bikes they provided around Key West was a lot of fun and safe. The pool available to the property was very private and special. The pier near the property was great for watching sea life. Steve and Kayla were attentive and helpful with Key West tips. They gave us the perfect amount of attention. We have memories that will last a lifetime.

Room Tip: The Master Suite is elegant and romantic.
