Staying at the Atlantis House in Key West was fantastic. The gardens at the house were a welcome retreat from crazy Duvall Street. The host and hostess for this property were very welcoming and accommodating. They took the time to introduce us to our room and to make sure that we were comfortable in our surroundings. Kayla and Steve were also able to sincerely recommend restaurants and activities for us to do during our visit. We choose to have breakfast on the property each morning. This was a great option for any one who likes to linger over bagels and coffee con leche. Thanks Kayla and Steve for your warm hospitality.

Room Tip: Rooms were beautiful.

As our romantic escape to Key West was an amazingly romantic time without the demands of children and my business -- and I am currently in service of my children & business -- so I will make this brief:

WOW.

What a romantic space, our favorite stay in any guest house in memory-- and we've had a few. The comfortable elegance of the space (inside & outside garden) was only topped by the welcoming spirit of Kayla and Steve. We will be back ASAP, without a doubt.

My husband and I wanted to get away from the terrible Columbus weather for Spring break but had never really been to Key West (aside from a college trip my husband took years ago & barely remembered). We chose the Atlantis House because it had such great reviews and we were not disappointed. Steve and Kayla greeted us upon arrival with a cool drink and loads of hospitality. They were always available with great suggestions on where to go and what to see but otherwise gave us our complete privacy. We didn't take any time to suit up and hop on the bikes (which we used the entire trip and is included in the price) to check out the entire island. We rode everywhere on the bikes...breakfast, shopping, dinner, beach and it was great. We felt like kids again. I guess the thing we really liked about staying at the Atlantis House was we could scoot over to the busy part of the island in 5-10 minutes by bike. Otherwise we got to enjoy pure privacy in our Garden Room. Never saw the couple staying next door except when they checked in so with the way the house is laid out we basically had complete privacy. The room itself was really cute and with the skylight in the bathroom you felt like you were showering in the sunlight. Spent most of our "beach time" across the street at Higgs beach which is great for people watching. To top it all off we had all access to a small private pool across the street that we used each evening to cool off. All in all a fantastic vacation. I would highly recommend staying here. PS. Kayla's keylime pie is the best.

Steve and Kayla are very nice and great hosts. However I wish we would have known that the "john" offered no privacy. The suite is all one large room - bed, bath, and shower are one large room. The commode is only separated from the rest of the room by a thin curtain which offers ZERO privacy. My wife and I went out on the deck when the other used the toilet. If your idea of romance is to listen to your lover sitting on a modified chamber pot, this won't bother you at all.

Also the bed is a mattress on a board that was not very comfortable. For the price of this suite, there should be a comfortable box springs and mattress.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions but when an opinion is grossly misrepresented as fact, then the truth must be clarified.
As our web site states and pictures clearly show, the Master suite is an open volume space with 17ft. vaulted ceilings, designed to create an airy and contemporary atmosphere. At 600 square feet, it is roughly three times larger than the average room of any guesthouse in Key West. It also boasts a 12ft. x 15ft. Master Bath making it not only the second largest bathroom out of a hundred guesthouses but also the size of an entire average guestroom in Key West. The commode is discreetly tucked away in it's own water closet/cubby in the furthest reaches of this enormous suite. We urge anyone who this may concern to view the photos on our web site. We believe that this guest claiming that one had to go outside while the other used the toilet was an absurd exaggeration.
The Master suite is appointed with a PLATFORM bed, not a mattress on a board as the guest states, with a brand new Serta Dream-Haven Collection mattress not even 2 months old which retailed for a $1,000.00. Platform beds are used by fine hotels and guesthouses all over the world.
The Atlantis House was built from the ground up by us and has always been owner operated. We have no staff, just us: two people with a deeply personal dedication to do our very best to make each and every guest as comfortable and happy as humanly possible. We suppose that the saying is true "You can't make all of the people happy all of the time", but we'll still keep trying...

We travelled to Key West looking for somewhere to chill out away from the Scottish winter and Atlantis House delivered.

The room was so delightful with everything we needed plus thoughtful little touches which added to the ambiance and level of comfort. And the patio is just such a lovely space to relax.

The fishing trip is highly recommended and the fish dinner prepared by Steve and Kayla was delicious and graciously hosted.

We had a great time in Key West with the hospitality provided at this great little guest house being first class.

Looking for a special place to celebrate, the peaceful setting of Atlantis House was perfect! Captain Steve took us on the most amazing fishing trip and the dinner he and Kayla prepared with the fish we caught the following night was a gourmet delight. Kayla's Key Lime pie was heavenly! The inn is within walking distance of beaches and all the popular Key West attractions, and Steve and Kayla were so warm and helpful with their recommendations for dining and entertainment. The rooms and the gardens are quiet and relaxing and there are bikes and beach chairs for the guests. Their hospitality was exceptional and our trip to this tropical paradise most memorable.
