We visited Key West during Women’s Fest 2009. It was late in the year when we decided to go so we were worried that we wouldn’t find a room or that it would be very expensive. We asked a local where to stay and she recommended Douglas House. What a wonderful recommendation! The staff was friendly upon arrival and gave us a short tour of the small property and showed us to our room. We were happy with room #1 which has a little porch to sit on, two double beds, a large closet, a fridge and microwave. It wasn’t anything fancy but it was comfortable and well worth the $100 per night. In the morning from 8-10 they provide a continental breakfast which includes a variety of mini muffins and breads, cereal, OJ, coffee and milk. It is served by the pool so there are plenty of quiet places to sit near the garden or coy pond. Based on this trip we would absolutely stay at The Douglas House again! It is conveniently located a half block from Duval. Enjoy it!
