This was a cool place. Wine and cheese in the afternoon,...a few types of wine you could take to your room as you get ready for the evening. Fresh lemonade to mix with your vodka. (I miss that Lemonade) The layout of the resort so quaint and tropical. Pool and hot tub open 24 7 (as long as you don't disturb others). Continental breakfast with fresh tasting OJ, coffee, eggs, breads, cream cheese milk coffee cereal, bagel,....all that you need. I would love to put on the photos of the multileveled resort but it wont do any justice. You felt you were in the keys here,....lush, tropical, I think Hemingway was sitting by the pool un noticed with drink in hand reading.
Watch for the room you get, your room may be on the third floor and it could be an awful lot of stairs, also, adjoining room door had a terrible seal around it with light coming in and the fear of someone hearing everything in your room,,. way too much a gap around the door. This would be the main reason I did not give it an Excellent rating.
Other room amenities,.... good iron, and board, fridge, lots of closet and shelves. Our bathroom seemed old and outdated, hardly room for hair dryer or make up stuff,... a shower only and toilet that was hard to make work but we didn't care, it worked. Hot water took ages but we were not in a hurry.
The location was amazing,.... just off the main drag by a blog,...too many restaurants, bars and attractions to list with in walking, Mallory square 15 minute walk away. There was nothing that did not seem far away.
The staff all seemed helpful but busy,..
pick your times to get ahold of one of them as you may have to wait. All very helpful and friendly..
The parking,...Make sure you order a parking spot asap as there are only 8 or so spots. It was a problem not having one right away,..we had to park a block away, move twice and it cost us in time and money more.
There is late night noise from bars close by,....but that is why you chose the area right!? for the party also and proximity to it,... so bring ear plugs and don't complain,..drink before bed,...that is why you came here right?
Take what you want, good or bad about the above, the location and feel was priceless and a bit pricey at the same time. Romantic, lush, tropical, friendly, homey are words to describe staying here. I would stay again but check the room out first.
Don't get the third floor. A lot of stairs for some. Also, check for an adjoining room door...
