This hotel is unique. The location is good, the staff is GREAT, we loved the piano bar/lounge (throw back vibe), the outdoor bar is wonderful for people watching, and we really enjoyed the cafe. The coffee in the morning was especially nice; two individual coffee pots with two little creamers, and the coffee was nice and rich the way I like it.
The room we had, #29 luxury, was more standard, and the bathroom was in need of repair.
The reports of termites freaked me out, so I checked our beds (two queens) and all was fine. They were not very comfortable though. Quite hard.
The room was very clean though. I tipped the housekeepers each day we were there, and told them I appreciated their good work.
My main problem with the hotel, and why I gave it only a 'very good' rating, is that the owners have neglected the property. The part the general public sees is okay (piano bar, outside bar, & cafe area), but the stairs leading up to the rooms and the pool in particular, is a disgrace!
Honestly, the staff are the stars here. The owners should be ashamed of themselves.
I would return here just because there is no place like it (other than New Orleans). Hats off to all the staff for the professional and friendly service they give each and every day :)
