I really liked this place and would definitely go back here. At first I was a little skeptical because, well, the name is kind of ridiculous. But if you're looking for a clean, 3 star B&B type place that's reasonably priced in a great location, this is it. the rooms are not luxurious, but they are nice and they are clean. I even had a big bath tub with whirlpool jets and all that. the AC could be a little colder, which I suspect might be a problem in the summer months, but in November it was fine. and I liked how you felt like you have more privacy than at a major hotel chain because the rooms are spread out a little bit throughout the property.
My favorite thing about the place might be the location. It's right on Duval St, so you can walk to most restaurants and bars in under ten minutes, which is great. It's also just 3 blocks from the beach by the southern most point, which is really convenient too. And because it's located a little futher down Duval, you don't have to deal with all the drunk, loud people in the street at all times of the day and night. It's a little more quiet down here. Everyone who works here is great too. Very helpful and friendly. they couldn't have been better.
I ate dinner in the restaurant my first night. Very good food, but a little pricey. I got the red snapper and mashed potatos, which was excellent, but ran $28. though i guess a lot of the restaurants in Key West are going to charge that much. however they have cheaper food in the bar, and on the upside, the daily breakfast which comes free with the room was also served at this nice open air restaurant. and it's not like a cheap breakfast buffet you get at a comfort inn. it's a nice made to order breakfast. you get a voucher every morning and then order off a menu with options like bacon eggs and home fries, or french toast. good stuff.
One of the few downsides I would warn people about is that the swimming pool is not really all that functional. It's nice to look at, but it's small and hard to get in and out of, and there's only a few chairs set up for you to sit in, and most of the time they are partially blocked by the shade of the trees overhead. However, for me this wasn't a problem because the beach is located so close. And I always would prefer the beach to a pool anyway. Also the free wireless never really worked all that well. it would work for five minutes, then be down for twenty.
but overall i'd definitely recommend this hotel/B&B.
