I stayed at the Ambrosia with my GF in May. Inspite of the busy memorial day weekend , the front desk was quite flexible in booking us a 3 nite stay. In fact, Ben upgraded our room and waived its usual minimum stay requirement. We were set up in the new owners suite which had never been occupied.

The room was fantastic!! The antique heart pine floors were the nicest I have ever seen.

Ben was very helpful with dinner reservations and even sold us an autographed Key West book on our departure.

We will certainly be back.

“Ambrosia best Bed and Breakfast in Key West!!!”

Ambrosia Key West and Ambrosia Too

I don't know where to begin. We booked online almost one year ago. We did not know what to expect only read reviews online. Boy were we in for the best vacation we have had to date. We were in Key West to get married and took our immediate family and were looking for a good place to stay close to Duval and all the other attractions and that was good for ages 28-80 We found it!! I cannot say enough about the excellent service we had by the staff. On the day we arrived, at almost closing time for the office, we were welcomed with big smiles and helpful information about the island. What a great relief!!! The rooms were WONDERFUL!!! Our family stayed in the poolside rooms which were perfect, clean, and right next to the main pool( they had great easy to get in and out of showers). We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was convenienty across a quiet street. The suite was better than I could imagined. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept on, the rooms were cleaned daily, the room was very quiet, there was a great covered porch, the whirpool tub was to die for, a great shower with plenty of warm water, a flat screen t.v. for our "downtime", and much, much, much more!!! The breakfast served poolside every morning earlier than 9 on most mornings, but always kept fresh and plenty to eat until 11!!! Eggs, bacon, bagels, fresh fruit, pastries of all sorts, biscuits, cereal and all the juices, milk and coffee you can drink!!! All included!!! A nice touch was the tea poolside after breakfast until mid afternoon. Oh and the bottled water poolside 24/7. The staff was sure to keep things clean all throughout the stay outside and in. The pool was warm and refreshing. Location was great just off Duval, we walked to everything, don't rent a car no need. If we needed a cab they were happy to call. A grocery store within 2min. of walking was great. I can't say enough about Ambrosia other than I can't wait to come back. I wouldn't have it any other way. So THANKS Ambrosia for making our honeymoon the best time we have had so far. And those going to Key West stay at Ambrosia, you won't be sorry.

We stayed at the Ambrosia Too for a five day getaway with our 3 adult children. We stayed in the main section. What a fabulous elegant place! The decor is gorgeous- British plantation meets the Tropics. The gardens surrounding the dip pools are lush, with lovely umbrella tables throughout the patio. We spent alot of time relaxing on the chaise lounges and sunning by the pools. An unlimited supply of pool towels, chilled bottled water and ice tea are replenished faithfully throughout the day. Upon arrival we realized the place is immaculate and it stayed that way during our whole visit. Our 3 kids were in "Bobs Place" a fully equiped townhouse including kitchen. They had their own porch with hammock and wicker chairs for relaxing and right out their front door was one of the dip pools. We were in the "Alligator Suite", which with its own private porch including table and couch seatings allowed us to gather for cocktails or champagne in private each evening. Ambrosia is 1 1/2 blocks off Duval so right near everything, but the neighborhood is absolutely quiet. Ben the concierge was stellar- we have never relied on a concierge to make arrangements for us so faithfully.
In addition to the decor cleanliness friendliness and elegance was the fact that this place does not break the bank as far as your vacation budget...it is a great value for the price! We are already talking about when we can schedule a return to the Ambrosia.

About 10 years ago, we went to Key West and stayed in a different inn ... the next year in yet another. In the third year, we stayed at the Ambrosia and, this spring, stayed in this wonderful property for the sixth year. We even went to Mexico in 2006. We loved it but still came back to Ambrosia in 2007.

That says it all.

First of all, there is no better destination than Key West for those who love people, love a slow and relaxed pace, and love beautiful weather. The only thing that can make Key West better is having a place to stay you enjoy and don't have to worry about. We did.

First of all, the people at Ambrosia are its strength. They are there when you need them, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our suite was wondeful, the pools enjoyable, the ambience exceptional, and the breakfast top rate. Whatever you do, make sure you stick around at least once during the late afternoon to hear the neighbors from Nancy's Secret Garden.

If you haven't been to Key West, go. If you do go, the Ambrosia is well worth it.

“Absolutely wonderful”

Sorry it's taken so long to write this review. Got back from our wonderful trip to the Keys and landed home in an ice storm. Wanted to get back on a plane and head directly back to Ambrosia.

The hotel is aptly named. Our room, a small suite, was comfortable and very soothingly decorated. I didn't notice internet access but frankly, I left my computer at home this trip and was glad I was not wired. The room had loads of outlets for charging the camera and the cell phone however. Our room had a coffee pot, microwave and small refrigerator with bottled water.

One thing I look for more than anything in a hotel room is cleanliness and this room was SPOTLESS. It may be strange but I get nervous about laying on blankets and pillows in hotels and didn't have a lick of issues with this hotel because it exuded an air of cleanliness.

The complementary breakfast was more than I could have asked for. Eggs, bacon, loads of fresh fruit and great coffee (I recommend the Havana Blend). I didn't sample the freshly baked cakes and other sweet treats but they looked wonderful. There was also cereal as well as bagels and breads. I recall three kinds of fresh juice, OJ, cranberry and tomato. We'd have the wonderful breakfast out by the pool (also quite nice for a dip after a long day of walking) and then just grab a snack for lunch.

Brian was a fabulous host.

The hotel is convenient to Duval Street. We parked the car (yes, there is parking on-site and on the street) and never moved it opting to walk everywhere.

I can highly recommend this hotel which was recommended to me by a friend that had stayed there. I will look to re-book when next I'm in Key West. The stay at Ambrosia really made the trip worthwhile.
