First time to the Keys and the bonus was staying at Ambrosia House. We stayed in the Sailfish suite with possibly the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in while travelling. The suite is a little more $$, but well worth it. Large living room and bedroom and a veranda to relax on with a glass of red. Location makes it possible to walk to all of the sights - Mallory Square, Duval Street, Hemmingway House, Nancy's Secret Garden. The staff recommended Cafe Sole which was a real find and a short walk from Ambrosia. Also, we recommend the Butterfly conservatory. It's enchanting and unlike anything you have ever experienced. If you like the huge mega-hotels, then Ambrosia is not for you. If you want to feel special and stay in an authentic Key West Inn, then by all means stay at Ambrosia.

Simply Magnificient!
Wy wife and I stayed 7 nights at the Ambrosia Too and received the ultimate in hospitality.
From the warm greeting of the staff and Lucky(a rugged old Bichon Frisee who protects the Ambrosia), to the fantastic landscaping, pools and guest houses, it was heaven.
The rooms are elegantly appointed with down duvets in clear bright colours. The suites themselves are floor to ceiling windows that afford a perfect view of the pool and lush gardens.
The cleanliness of the rooms, offices and common areas can only be described as immaculate.
In additon to ensuring we were comfortable at all times, the staff were able to suggest local restaurants, attractions and make reservations. They even booked us an incredible fishing trip with Captain Justin of Almost There Charters!
Having worked in the Hospitality industry for over 20 years, I can only say that The Ambrosia House caters to every guest's need in a personal, friendly and sincere manner.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I return for my next vacation!

My three duaghters (two teens and one 10 year old) stayed at Ambrosia Too in Bob's Place the week after Christmas, and had a great time. Although I have traveled a good bit, it was my first time in Key West and I fell in love with it. Ambrosia Too was a great place to stay- a wonderful location right in the historic district within biking or walking distance to almost everywhere. We lucked out with great weather and relaxed by the heated pools- which were small but fine for us. The breakfast each morning was delicious (especially the muffins). Ben and Kate were great at providing suggestions and making reservations for activities and restuarants. Our room had a sleeper sofa, two tv's and a queen bed- and a nice small balcony with a hammock. It also had a kitchenette, which we used only for a few lunch things, and a small but ok bathroom. The decor was nice and casual, and they changed the spreads on the bed a couple of times while we were there. The area around the pools was very pretty, with a lot of shaded areas and some sunny spots as well.

I have only a few suggestions for improvement- apparently, Ambrosia allows pets ( which Ben mentioned the day before we left). I think there is room to improve the room cleanliness after a pet owner leaves. I found dog hair still in the carpet, and lots of dog hair on our outdoor deck. I never complained about it, because we were so happy with everything else. I know that if I had mentioned it, Kate would have had a cleaning person in immediately to do a thorough job. Other than the dog hair, the room was clean. WE did have one issue arise while we were there and Kate addressed it immediately... we had some very loud partyers across from us that woke us up several times in the middle of the night, and after letting Kate know she went to them immediately and we didn't have any problems with it later. One last suggestion- the place was filled the week we were there, and I think a few extra pool chairs would be a good investment- there were not enough lounge chairs.

A few restuarant suggestions- we had the absolute best dinner at Blue Heaven. Everyone raves about breakfast so we tried it too, but dinner was our favorite. The dinner at Latitudes was nice, but overpriced- and not the best food that we had. We did not like Mangia Mangia at all (this was not Ben's recommendation- we just went because you didn't need a reservation and it was close)- don't waste your time there!! Cafe Sole was also delicious. WE went on a dinner cruise on night, and the food was actually pretty good. It was a fun change of pace that the girls liked.

WE've already booked a roon for next year- Ambrosia was great, and we can't wait to go back.

Great place to stay. It's feels very secluded, but is only a couple of blocks from Duval St. Very nice pool area, especially when eating breakfast by the pool. We have stayed there twice and will stay again. Wonderful staff.

My family just spent seven lovely nights at Ambrosia Too, from Dec. 22 through Dec. 29th. We traveled all the way from Minnesota! We had with us our two children, an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old, and decided to spend Christmas in Key West, our first time visiting. We selected Ambrosia Too, due to reviews on Trip Advisor, and its location. It was important to us to be easy walking distance to Duval and Mallory (so that little legs could keep up). We were so pleased with our stay. We were in Ambrosia Too (not Ambrosia across the street), because I think Ambrosia is adult only, and Ambrosia Too is kid friendly. There was another extended family there during our stay, with small children, so we felt comfortable (but don't worry -- not overly kid-central, I assure you!). We stayed in Zeke's Retreat, one of the best located rooms, in my opinion, simply due to its out of the way location on-site. You have no one walking by your private deck to get to a room, because Zeke's Retreat is at the back end, around a corner, and out of sight. The room is two story, and we slept upstairs in a queen bed, with an upstairs private deck, and the kids slept on a pull out sofa bed on the first floor. (They did not seem to mind at all!). Despite being out of the way, Zeke's Retreat was still only steps from the two dipping pools at Ambrosia Too. And key was the fact that both dipping pools were heated, almost to the point of steaming in the morning! This was very important to us, because the kids swam each morning as we enjoyed breakfast at the pool, reading our New York Times. There was a bit of cold snap when we were there, so heated pools made all the difference. (When we checked the pool at Ambrosia across the street, it was COLD, so if swimming is important to you, keep that in mind!). The breakfasts were delightful, as the reviews say, and the staff was fantastic, and even helped us parallel park our rental car when we arrived, very tired, from a long day of travel from Minneapolis plus a drive through the Keys! The only "negative," (and it is a small one, in our opinion), is the fact that there was only one bathroom in our unit, on the second floor, that is in need of some updating. But it was perfectly adequate, and because our kids are still small, we all fit! If you need a large bathroom with jacuzzi tub, you will not find it in Zeke's Retreat. But, with kids in tow, the large luxurious bathroom just was not at the top of our list this visit, so we did not mind. The location is truly perfect! Quiet, lovely, residential street, so quiet, yet just 1.5 blocks off of Duval. Even after a long day of walking and boating and general touring, the kids never complained about the walk home, as it was so close to everything. Thanks, Ambrosia, and we will be back!
