My husband and I stayed at the Angelina for 6 nights at the beginning of June and just loved it. It feels totally authentic to Key West, with locals living nearby and tons of character and charm.

We rented bikes and did not move our car the whole time, which I would definitely recommend. Although the hotel is situated on a quieter street, it's easy to walk or bike anywhere on the island.

We booked one of the shared-bath rooms - it was small, but clean and cozy with lots of sunlight - and a steal at $69/night! The 2 bathrooms are only shared among 3 rooms, so we never had to wait, and there is a common room with a fridge and mini-kitchen where we stored snacks and drinks. Our room was on the upper level, which I would probably request again in order to avoid a bit of the street noise that is typical in Key West.

Breakfast is simple (aside from the delicious home-made cinnamon rolls) but will fill you up for a day of sightseeing. The staff is incredibly helpful, even booking a fishing trip for us, and our afternoon ritual became laying by the amazingly tranquil pool until dinner-time.

My only complaint is the sporadic water temps - my shower often switched between really hot and cool, but otherwise I can't imagine a better place to stay in Key West for the price!

I cannot say enough about this place, it's already been said. Briefly: clean, accomodating, friendly staff, great cinnamon rolls, location spot on, walking distance to virtually everything you'd want to see in KW. We stayed in 2 king rooms, 1. Dottie (I think?)
2. Trisha. Both great rooms, preferred Trisha: updated and a little larger.

To Stephanie, Janet, and Kevin: thank you for being so kind and treating people as individuals! It was very refreshing, especially after being coralled through the airports, to the rental cars, into cabs, etc. Though most people are friendly in KW I have to say.

The blond haired cleaning lady was very sweet also (her first name I can't remember sorry)! She does a fantastic job!

Also additional thanks to Kevin for jumping my rental after the lights were left on, after we had checked out! You all are great! I will stay no where else on all my future trips to KW!!!

This place is a great value in KW! The hubby and I stayed for 3 nights in June and here is what we loved-Location is perfect, within walking distance to almost everything! Pool is extremely relaxing, with a hammock and lots of shades for those hot and sunny days AND it is open 24 hrs which was the best way to end the evenings. Towels were provided and there was an ice machine right by the pool. The service was very friendly, gave recommendations for dinner and allowed us a late check-out with no problems. Even though the hotel doesn't have assigned parking, we had no problems parking right across the street (and we moved our car twice)
Some things I didn't love, but could live with: breakfast was not that good, except for the homemade cinnamon rolls. It consisted of toast, bagels, canned fruit, hard boiled eggs and stayed the same everyday. Again, not impressive, but free so it is ok. Bathrooms were pretty outdated, but again, for the price they are acceptable. Only problem was that there was barely any COLD water! So showers were pretty hot and for that time of the year, not the refreshing shower that you need after walking around all day.
What we hated: we had the worst room location! It was a queen with a fridge and its own entrance from the outside, which sounds good EXCEPT for it was soo loud! You could hear every car, trash pick-up, scooters, etc and the room would literally shake at 7am when the trash was getting picked up. At night, this was not a problem since we had plenty of drinks and were tired enough to just crash, but the mornings were pretty brutal.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel, just be aware of where your room is located. I may try it again, but would insist on a different room.

We loved everything about Angelina. This is the place to be if you are looking for a good value and a laid back atmosphere. It is quaint and very quiet. Our room walked right out onto the patio, steps away from the pool. There is a free breakfast every morning with the world's BEST cinnamon rolls!!
My husband and I rented bicycles for the week - the way to go since everything is within riding distance.
