I stayed at the Dewey House for 3 nights last week and was thrilled. Breakfast time and afternoon Tea arrangements were fabulous. Try the waffles! Pools were warm, clean and the staff spoils you, you feel really taken care of. I had a great mani/pedi with Amber at the spa. Room was Immaculate. I spent hours on the porch reading, it was really charming and the grounds are simply beautiful. I will be back as often as possible.

We stayed at Dewey house for 3 nights to celebrate my husband's birthday. All I can say is that 5 stars is not enough to describe our experience. From check-in, to a bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge, breakfast and afternoon tea on the patio, convenient bike rentals, staff who acted as if we were cherished family members, comfy beds, plump towels and Spa beauty products - there is nothing we would have changed. Key West is a lovely destination with so much to choose from...History at the Truman White House, sea museum, Ernest Hemingway house...swimming and snorkeling at the beach....shopping, eating and drinking on Duval Street and at the marina area...biking on streets where local drivers respect bikers. We can't wait to return and bring family.

Room Tip: If you can afford the splurge, an ocean view on the second floor of Dewey House is amazing. Room 418...

My husband and I stayed our first night in Key West at the Dewey House. To be honest, we waited too long to book the B&B where I had previously stayed. The Dewey House was the only opening on the island for our first night, and I was extremely excited as I'd heard wonders. It did not disappoint. I can honestly say that it's the best place either of us has stayed in the entire country. The Dewey House has a traditional elegance that somehow seamlessly blends into coastal chic. We stayed on the second floor, by the stairs, with an enclosed balcony facing the street. It was flawlessly quiet, and the bathroom was beautiful and spotlessly clean. I would have much rather spent half the time in Key West that we did so that we could've afforded an entire stay at this property. Seriously, it's that good. The concierge called us a cab to the Blue Angels Air Show. We ate the best breakfast of our trip (espresso, English muffins, fruit, cheese, and yogurt) out on the beautiful beach-front patio. The location is on the absolute end of Duval Street. At first, we saw that as a negative, but if we did the trip over again, I promise you we would've spent entire days reading on the beach, lounging on our balcony, and enjoying food and drink at the Southernmost Beach Cafe next door. . . with brief trips out to the marina and dinner. It's a splendid property that offers the luxury that's too often missing from a Key West vacation. Skip the hotel chains and other B&Bs. They can't compare. This was my husband's first trip to KW, and I had wanted to just book where I'd stayed before. I hugely regret that decision! I sincerely hope you choose to stay at the Dewey House for your entire trip!

We stayed two nights in the Ocean front suite, room 404, which was on the ground floor. The view was spectacular. The LaMer and Dewey houses are charming, the grounds are tropical and private and very well maintained. The suite was not overly large, but well appointed and cozy. The bathroom was large with a large shower, but no jacuzzi tub, which was my only disappointment. We really enjoyed our short stay, and would definitely plan to stay there again in the future!

Room Tip: The ocean front suite has a huge porch, literally right on the beach. The expense for this room is t...

We stayed at the La Mer and Dewey House May 20th- 24th. This was our third trip to Key West but our first time staying at La Mer and Dewey House. We will never stay anywhere else. This place is a gem! This hotel is on the Gulf side of the island a block or so away from Duvall street ( the main street of Key West). You are walking distance to everything. When we first arrived at the hotel, we were met by Randell a wonderful gentleman who took us around the hotel grounds and gave us helpful information about activities going on at the hotel during our stay like Scuba class, wine and beer class, yoga etc. Boomer runs a lot of these activities and he is a great guy who will make sure you are never bored while staying at La Mer. Our room was wonderful with a spectacular view of the beach! We had a balcony that faced the beach. we would sit out there in the evening having a glass of wine enjoying the wonderful weather and watching the sun set. We could not of asked for anything better! This hotel has three pools one had live music every day with many activities throughout the day. The other pool was the tranquility pool for those who just enjoyed the quite and wanted to relax and read. The 3rd pool was the Pineapple pool. Every morning breakfast was served while you sat at cafe tables that overlooked the beautiful beach with crystal clear blue water. If that wasn't enough to wet your appetite, they spoiled you with delicious food; fresh waffles, quiche, every kind of fruit, Muffin and breads, yogurt, coffee, and cappuccino. Relaxation with a top notch view! This is a wonderful hotel to stay at in Key West and in our opinion the very best place to stay! We look forward to coming back and staying at this wonderful gem!

Room Tip: We had a great room first floor with a balcony facing the beach room # 404 could not have a better v...

We spent 3 nights in the Dewey House and couldn't have been more pleased. While our 2nd floor room was on the small side (garden view), it still had everything we needed...refrigerator, safe, coffee maker, roomy bath and balcony with an ocean view. The daily breakfast and afternoon tea was great and afforded several delicious options. The staff at the Southernmost hotel group was accommodating and friendly. In fact, shortly after our return home, we received a note from the Dewey House staff, Sam, Randall, Darleen and Jenny, thanking us for our stay. What a nice touch! If we're ever in Key West again, we would definitely return to the Dewey House.

You have to stay here if you are going to Key West without children. My wife and I stayed at the La Mer hotel, which is just like the Dewey House only with direct access from the covered porch. Our room was quiet and our bed was very comfortable. The breakfast and tea time were wonderful. We didn't even need to spend money on lunch because of the many food options available at both. The innkeepers made us feel like we were at a friend's house. The location can't be beat. All beaches had free cold water available and each day we were given two bottles of water. In addition they gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne. Since it was my 40th birthday, they gave us two coupons for a free drink from the bar. It was a perfect setting, quiet and relaxing within short walking distance of Duval Street without the noise.

Room Tip: Rooms in LaMer are just as good as in the Dewey house. Our room didn't face the ocean, but we we...
