We stayed at the Dewey House for the second leg of our honey moon after the Sandals resort in the Bahamas, and enjoyed it immensly! We went in unseasonably hot weather so my only complaint was the pool situation. I crossed the street to the other pool on property, adults only, but it was surrounded by a wall so VERY hot on the pool deck for sunbathing/reading... had to leave after only about 20 minutes... dipping in the pool every few minutes just wasnt wnough.Nice touch though... a server came around for drink order and even brought popcicles! The main pool was VERY crowded and small and lots of kids playing and rough housing. I ended up going out on the pier where it was quiet and there was even a decent breeze.

The room itself was fantastic! Great bed and beautifully decorated! The bathroom was small, but that was OK for a B&B, and expected since our room was on a funny shaped corner. Minor problem was the window coverings... we were right on the walkway, so we had to be careful coming out of bathroom since bathroom door faced our windows and you could see in:)

Our favorite part about this hotel was the service! We were greeted with big smiles by everyone, and the innkeeper quickly introduced herself as we were wondering around, and explained how the breakfast and tea times worked, etc. Very helpful. It was great having a computer in the "lobby" area, and the continental breakfast was GREAT!!! Surpassed my expectations. Tea time was nice too, tograb a sweet bite and some cheese and crackers on the patio before heading out for dinner/evening advantures. When we arrived there was a bottle of champagne (honeymoon) and a hand written welcome note from hotel staff! We even got a handwritten Christmas note! The hotel is walking distance from the touristy part of town, but it was nice to be a little farther from the bars, etc. We found the best way to get around was to rent a bike... only $15 for 24 hours, so we could ride to bars at night and still have the whole day to explore with the bikes, for way cheaper than getting cabs or pedi-cabs. Overall, would definately recommend!

Just returned home (sadly) from our week long stay at the Southernmost's LaMer Hotel. This was our second stay at this fantastic B&B (our 10th at the resort) I am happy to report that once again, it was a wonderful trip. Every single person was sweet, friendly, helpful... we always felt - well- MORE than appreciated! The rooms are meticulously maintained, the beds are super comfy, the entire property is just gorgeous. I love having breakfast each morning on the patio near the beach. I can't say enough about the entire property and staff. All are top notch!

My boyfriend and I spent a long weekend for my birthday at the Dewey House and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The staff at breakfast were always friendly and we enjoyed sitting on the lanai each morning. I agree with other reviews you have to wait to get coffee and food if you are an early riser...however to hear some people complain you have to clean your own dishes up?! You pick them up and put them in a bin less than five feet away, that's just lazy if you have a problem with this. Our favorite thing was afternoon tea and snacks which if you have been in the sun all day is a nice midday bite to hold you over before dinner. The beach is convenient but not the best, but if you know KW, you know beaches are few and not the best you have ever seen. There are numerous pools and we enjoyed the adult only quiet pool as the large pool was a bit too rowdy for our tastes. We enjoyed a couples massage at the spa which was outdoors and very relaxing in a private tent. My boyfriend talks about returning all the time since we left and I'm sure we will.

We have been to this resort many times (actually 6 times). We have enjoyed the entire property. The rooms in both the La Mer and Dewey house are clean and roomy. The service was excellent. This property is Located on the quite side of Key West.

This past visit we stayed in the Dewey House....we will be back again in February 2014.
