Owner description: Tropic Cinema is South Florida's only nonprofit multiplex cinema screening 1st-run indie, foreign and documentary films and Hollywood blockbusters every day. With 4 theaters, state-of-the art projection services and the best concessions stand anywhere (we serve wine and beer and drizzle our popcorn with 100% melted butter), it's no wonder Florida Monthly magazine named Tropic Cinema "Florida's Best Cinema" for four consecutive years.

Where else can you have a glass of wine while watching a movie? Feels like old Hollywood. Multiplex but feels intimate. Very fun place to visit.

“Sweet little theater. Great movies.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

Run by smart people, this theater has first run films not shown at your average multiplex. Foreign and indie films fresh from the festival circuit.

“Movie Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

if you want a feeling of "old time movies" this is the best in KW.Lots of foreign films and small quaint atmosphere. Great to just stop in and enjoy the small personal quietness and enjoy a film at the same time. Some people wouldn't think of "going to the movies" on a vacation but this is truly a great "part" of a vacation...and be sure to get a picture with Marilyn. This could never be a disappointment because of the experience in itself. Oh don't forget the air conditioning!

“Intimate movie watching”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Has movies I would not see at home...independent films as well as blockbusters. Charming renovation of old Key West building and creative use of space to create 3 small and 1 large theater.

“No better place...”

...To see a wonderful movie with a glass of wine in hand. A real gem in the heart of Key West's Old Town.
