“great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

Wife and I did a three day stay for anniversary Could not have asked for a better experience. Very nice people own and manage property. On quiet end of Duval but bike rentals made all commuting easy. Did not use car for entire stay. No pool on property but was able to use a nice pool at hotel directly across street. There is a large Jacuzzi on site. Nice breakfast. Grounds are very well maintained and landscaped.
Would recommend Southernmost Guest House to all, but couples would probably enjoy it more than families. Romantic setting.

My husband and I visited this quaint little place this weekend for just a quick weekend away. I could not have asked for more. I called a couple of weeks in advance and they gave me a cheaper price over the phone since it was slow. The room was perfect, clean and nicely furnished. The location is on the quiet end of Duval but minutes away from everything. We parked our car on Friday and didn't see it again until we left on Sunday!!! The staff was absolutely delightful!! How many people hug you when you leave!! From the minute we stepped out of the car they we were warm and welcoming and just made you feel right at home. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great place, in a great location, and at a great price!! I can't wait to go back!!

Wow! Haven't been to Key West since 1999 and never stayed at a B&B. That all has changed. Not only will we be heading south again we will definitely be staying at the Southernmost House. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They treated us like family. The room (#4) was spacious and very clean. Everyone that works here takes pride in their job and is evident everywhere you look. Great location at the end of Duval (quiet part) but very accessible to the "party" side. Overall, a wonderful experience!! Thank you Mona and staff for helping make our stay wonderful!!!! See you soon.

Incredible stay with an incredible staff. Beautiful B&B, comfortable and spacious rooms with incredibly beautiful grounds. Owner Mona was extermely gracious and accomodating. She treated us like family. It is apparent that the entire staff takes pride in the guesthouse and grounds. Within walking distance (or plentiful car/bicycle taxis and tour busses - on/off tour bus stop in front of the BB) to the busy side of Duval. Visit to Rum Bar at the Speakeasy Inn (couple blocks north on Duval) is worth a visit. Will definitely stay here for future visits.

Room Tip: Honeymoon suite with balcony view of ocean was our favorite.

First visit to Key West and great choice of B&B! Located on Duval St (the 'main' street), Restaurants, shops and excursions are close by but still far enough down to sleep soundly.
The owner: Mona -- very friendly and accommodating! Was kind enough to drive my mom to the plant store for a flower she saw in the backyard. Genuinely concerned about customers-- when the plant store didn't have what she wanted, she drove my mom to her son's house (where he had the plant) instead! Son: Sandy -- just as friendly and addresses your concerns in a timely manner. Front desk staff is very knowledgeable and approachable-- knew where the best excursions, souvenirs and local delicacies were.

Bed - we had 2 queens, room cleaned each day. Window air conditioning unit was a little noisy (you can turn it down to low), but made it hard to sleep when the rain pounded down on said A/C unit. Very clean and comfortable. Comes with fridge and microwave. Pool is small, but not crowded with guests, however a little warm (from the Florida sun).

Breakfast- Waffles, yogurt, fruit, sausage, etc. Only wish there was a bit more variety!

Overall great experience and highly recommend booking your room here for some R&R!

It's a old house!

That's the really nice thing and the staff seems to live the house. We really appreciated it so much and whenever we come again, we'll be here for sure!

Best choice here is apartment no 6 withdirect view to the "Point".

Free parking, free WiFi, a glass of nice Californian wine, very nice and huge breakfast - and the great, great hospitality! What to wish more!!!

Thanks!

It was my first visit to Key West and I can't imagine a better place to stay while visiting this charming place. It was close enough to the action, yet far enough away to be quiet. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. The pool was a giant hot tub with jets to massage your tired muscles. The hammocks around the yard were a delight for a "reading break". The room was clean and plenty big. The gals at the front desk were very helpful. The butterfly museum, right next door, was simply awesome. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
