“Ivy is the best!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Spent a week in February in one of the smaller sloped simply furnished attic rooms. Location is convenient to experience Duval. The woman named Ivy at the front desk is nice and helpful with information about getting around the area.

Just spent a terrific 3-night stay at this well run hotel. I must agree with the others that yes, the rooms are small, sparsely furnished, and the hall and balcony noise from the other guests carries. For the price, it would be easy to expect a bit more or less of these things. That said, I felt the establishment was extremely well kept and the staff was genuine and helpful. We did not get this room to spend a great deal of time inside, and the time we spent within the hotel made up for the lack of private space inside our room.

The location is perfect as the Green, Orange, and Lower Keys bus lines pass/stop directly in front of the hotel. Most of the time we simply walked down Duval to the more popular places on the island, but we did take the bus up to Marathon for $2, and a round trip cost of $8. That beats a rental car (with $25 parking) every day. I would not recommend renting a car if you travel to Key West, and especially so if you stay at this hotel.

The breakfast was simple but complete and well furnished. The bar area was a perfect place to have a nightcap and take a last minute dip in the hot tub. There are food/drink specials nearly each night that make this hotel a nice place to spend a day or evening next to the pool. All in all it was a great place to stay.

Far too expensive, bad value for the money. You could expect more than a simple continental breakfast in this price class. Only one very slowly coffemachine for the hole Hotel. Far too expensive and to few parking lots.

Very limited space for the bedroom, noisy. The bathroom is old.
Very well positionned downtown, close to Duval street.
The breakfast is very basic and light.
The swimming pool is ok.
Parking is 25$ per day extra but you can park at 1 mile in a public parking for 10$ a day.

Very comfortable king size bed but otherwise furnishings were limited as was parking which cost $25 per night. Nice bar area, two warm pools and a great hot tub. Staff is very accommodating. Very close to the heart of Key West.

Was pleasantly surprised! Very clean, comfortable. Staff was great. Close to everything. I would definitely recommend. Would stay here again for sure. The pools were really clean and the bar area was a lot of fun.

Room Tip: Some rooms are small but still very comfortable.

The staff was exceptional (I'm talking to you Debra and Dawson). Check-in was a breeze and Debra went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and go over all the details of the property. Dawson was gracious as could be about check-out and kindly kept an eye on our bags while we enjoyed one last afternoon on the island.

The Inn itself has a lot of what I'd call 'charm'. It's quaint, in a days-gone-by sort of way. That's not to say it's run down at all, quite the contrary. It's obviously been renovated recently, but the building has obviously been there for awhile and it places it shows. Are the rooms on the smaller side? Yes (ours was anyway - a queen room overlooking the pool/parking lot). Are the walls a bit thin? Yes. Are the built-in AC units a bit noisy? Yes. Will you occasionally hear footsteps, voices, or a door slam? Yes. But, for me, that's part of the charm. You're actually a participant in your surroundings. You're in it, not absently observing it. Which is what I like about Key West in the first place.

We didn't get to enjoy the grounds much as it was far to chilly for sunbathing or swimming but we did find the property to be very inviting and well kept. There were usually people out-and-about lounging and talking. It was nice to see activity around the property. The Patio Bar seemed like a great place to hang out and I think we would have spent far more time here were it not for the weather overall. The whole place has a real relaxed vibe about it.

As for location, it's at the 'other' side of town. We made the 20 minute walk between here and Mallory Square several times and once in a while indulged in a Pedicab ride. No big deal.

If I'd ever stayed anywhere twice I'd say I'd stay here again. There's absolutely no reason not to.
