“BEAUTIFUL BUILDING VERY DISAPPOINTING”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

Booked Pearl's hotel without knowing exactly what it was all about and found ourselves in a very nice looking house Ideal location but with amenities which left much to be desired. And surrounded by mostly women some of which very abrupt and unpleasant. Pearls patio bar would have been great without the hard rock music blaring out out all day and a friendlier service. Some Staff in hoteI friendly but most of them not interested. mainly women friendly not making us feel very comfortable. as for the room Fan not working air conditioning very noisy very small rooms dated and old fashioned. Bathroom with hair still in shower Sheets stained. No coffee amenities in the room very weird in the hotel. Internet not available in the room!. 21st century or what? Traveling world wide for work I would certainly NOT recommend this place at all especially when choice in the area is GREAT and BETTER! And especially with old mattresses which are not comfortable at all! When looking at other reviews am amazed to see that everything here is supposed to be so perfect!
VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!

My boyfriend and I are currently departing Pearl's with heavy hearts after a relaxing, romantic long weekend of soaking up my final days of summer vacation before going back to school as a full time teacher. From start to finish the Pearl's crew made us feel more than welcome and relaxed. Jill provided us with a bevy of information re: requests for a sunset cruise and paddle boarding before giving us a tour of the charming premises. I kept saying I felt as if we were staying in the Swiss Family Robinson tree house, because the three story home nestles in to a lush outdoor space densely packed with fanning palms and tropical vegetation. There are two pools and a hot tub within the garden-like backyard, as well as very laid back patio bar and grill manned by an equally laid back bar maid who made us feel right at home right away. The free sangria we got was far from tolerable, but it was a nice attempt. However, we had a quick recovery after ordering skinny coladas as half price since it was happy hour from 5-9, sensational time range and deals! As a 20 something with an annoying consciousness of calorie intake and nutrition I'm always hunting for those perfect balances of consumption where I can enjoy something flavorful without the health conscious guilt. The skinny colada at pearls certainly delivered! Even my steak and potatoe loving boyfriend rapidly fell in love with the cocktail and it became our key west go-to :).

Didn't do breakfasts at Pearl's because there were just too many fabulous options lining the streets of the historic downtown. I highly recommend the banana cafe just around the corner from pearls off Duval, as well as The Six Toed Cat off of Whitehead next to the Hemmingway House for breakfast. For recreation and tourism I highly recommend: The Hemmingway House (take the 30 minute tour and then walk the gardens and pet all the polydactyl cats independently), paddle boarding or kayaking with lazy dog rentals just across the small bridge off route 1, and absolutely without question, taking a sunset cruise! We took the Fury Commotion on the ocean and had an absolute blast!! Back to Pearl's though... to conclude, it was an enchanting hideaway with friendly service and an unbeatable location, we walked everywhere. The only drawback was our actual room as we stayed in the cheapest one with the one sky light and a very shabby bathroom. We weren't expecting the Ritz so it wasn't a huge disappointment but I do think pearls could have at least sprung for more counter space in the bathroom, another sky light for more natural light, and a better shower head. I'm not too snobby when it comes to rooms though, I'm still young and newly financially independent, so Pearl's really just did it for me regardless of the room shabbiness. It was a perfect getaway and I'd certainly stay at pearls again, probably just not in that top room again and in a room that had real windows to avoid that claustrophobic feel.

The staff couldn't possibly be more accommodating. Pay a few extra bucks for an upgraded room....it is definitely worth it! We will be return guests the next time we are in town. This hotel is a nice mix of fun and peaceful.

My husband and I stayed at Pearl's this past weekend for "Lobster Feast". This was our first stay here.. And the only place that had a room that weekend for one night . I was on waiting list and was so lucky yo get it... Room #122. Ivey at front desk is wonderful, Simona and the gentleman at my arrival were so accommodating and kind!!! The room was spacious with a King size bed, full bathroom and full kitchen... More then what I expected... We usually stay at the "Avalon b&b" but after staying there over 15 times in 10 yrs they were not able to hook up a room for us last minute. The Pearl's staff handled our on issue " immediately".. The room next to us had a dog who barked for hours until 1 am.. When the guest showed up to their room... I called Jill the Owner and she immediately tried to get a hold of guest in that room... Dog barked another 2 hours until 1 am... We just could not tolerate it any more... But it was taken care of... And the next morning to our surprise as we sat at the dining room for breakfast we were advised we were having complimentary breakfast from Pearl's. That is old school customer service and they get 10 stars from us... Clean room, Great pools, private pool and at area and close to Duval street.... We will be back!

Room Tip: Rooms 120, 121 and 122 are for guest who travel with pets.

We were first time male visitors and were extremely happy with this comfy bed&breakfast.
From the warm greetings at the check-in desk, to the tour of the grounds and to the comfort of our own "Love shack" out in the patio area all our expectations were beyond perfection. The staff was very helpful and offered to even help book some of our excursions. This place was located just off the southern part of Duval street and only two blocks from the Southernmost Point and South Beach. We were only one block over from the bike rental which helped since we didn't want to drive and Pearls recommendation again did help make our movement around the area a little more at ease. The patio bar was a nice touch and the fact that it opened at noon each day helped since we were both always thirty sitting by the pool or taking a break in between bike rides. We enjoyed the best breakfast every morning in the dinning room and later relaxing poolside under the shadings of the beautiful Magnolia tree.
Thank you so much Pearls for making our vacation in Key West a most memorable one.
We hope to be back soon!

Very clean and tidy room, bed was wonderful very comfy and smelt lovely and clean well done to your staff. Bathroom was clean and tidy and good shower. We had a room adjacent to the pool area, so could take an early morning swim, bar was just round the corner and prices not to bad. Breakfast was very good a varied choice. Will be stopping again.

Room Tip: Try and get a room close to the swimming pool.

We did not stay at Pearl's Patio. We did, however, spend an awful lot of time there over a 2 week period. A local friend of ours took us to Pearl's (which is open to the public) to spend a day by the pool and have lunch. The pools are absolutely gorgeous, as are the 2 spa's that we used. The food was delicious, and the drinks very reasonable (downright cheap during happy hour). We made friends with a couple of other couples while visiting, and ended up spending quite a bit of time there enjoying the hospitality that Pearl's has to offer. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the bartenders were great, and you could see the "woman's touch" everywhere: upgraded lounge chairs, beautiful landscaping, hand sanitizer outside the restrooms...it is simply a lovely place that we will certainly be visiting on our next trip!!!
