My wife and I stayed at Pearls for 2 nights... probably the worst 2 nights we have ever spent anywhere. Basic necessities, such as, a comfortable room and a/c fell by the waist side. We woke up numerous times in the middle of the night sweating because the a/c unit, which is controlled via 1 zone unit, shared among the rest of the floor, was either turned up to 78 degrees or just not working well. We were on the 3rd floor, which made it worse because heat rises. The room we had was less than inviting, looked and felt more like an attic space. There were a number of times where we hit our heads on the slanted ceiling
( we are both 5"4) a first for everything I guess. The mattress seemed old and worn, we both kept falling into the center.
Overall, I would NEVER return.

We had 4 couples in our group. All bikers. We were welcomed and treated with utmost kindness and courtesy. We really enjoyed the staff and the bar. Everyone there was accommodating and friendly to the point we looked forward to just going back to Pearl's to hang out rather than deal with the madness of Duval Street.

The room was fine. Plenty spacious for us. My wife thought the bed was perfect. Me, not so much. I thought it was mediocre at best. BUT ... Pearl's is located in a quiet area which was well appreciated when it came time to catch up on a little rest.

The pools were clean and well cared for. We spent one heck of a night in one of them! Out of 8 of us, it was a unanimous decision. It's Pearl's every time we go to the keys!

My husband and I visited Key West for the 1st time, end of December 2012. We chose Pearls because the price was decent for a guest house in down town. I loved how it was tucked away in a quiter area, the staff was wonderful even made friends with the pool guy Brian! Super clean, loved having a bar right there. Frenchies Cafe next door, was our favorite. We plan to come back and stay at Pearls, not even searching for another guest house!

I found this on Expedia's B&B listings and cross referenced it with TripAdvisor's reviews, as I always do. Some of the reviews are a bit silly, I think "joyless" is ridiculous. The front desk people tend to be serious in their effort to be efficient. But they are very helpful dealing with issues we had, calling cabs, storing luggage, making change, etc. Our breakfast (great) was included. For joy visit the pool and the bar. Here friendly and happy is everyone's mantra. Formerly a women only spot, it is gay friendly but straight friendly too for couples like me (guy) and my wife (gal). There were also two kitchens for use by guests at either end of the property and a coin operated washer and dryer! Rooms are a bit small, bed a bit soft but other than that a really, really nice place at the quiet end of town 2 blocks from the southern most point in the US.
