“Stayed for our honeymoon”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

We stayed at Pearls for our honeymoon. Overall the stay was ok, we felt a bit out of place at times.
Pros: The patio, pools and Room's balcony were fantastic. It has a close location to the beach, southernmost point and Duval Street. The hotels staff was very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast that was included in the plan was awesome! The hotel was very quiet, which was fantastic.
Cons: The rooms are in need of a remodel, the beds are hard, and there are cracks in the walls and ceilings. I would say that they need to update the decor to appeal wider variety of people, since they are trying to cater to mixed couples. It's a long walk to Mallory Square and to the "fun end" of Duval so make sure you have good shoes on or rent a bike.

I think if we visited Key West again we would stay at a different hotel. We just felt out of place at times, and like we were impeding on the lesbian couples, although that was not our intention.

We realize that changes needed to be made to keep the doors open. Pearl's has always been a place to stay to feel like you're staying at a good friends house with a bunch of friends. Loved meeting other lesbian couples. We experienced loud yelling in the hallways and our room was incredibly run down. For the price we paid and the service we received at another 5 star Inn at the same price....Pearl's is going to become a nice memory from the old days for us. We're a lesbian couple and enjoyed the women only aspect - but that will not trump the Inn we chose. We've met a lot of wonderful straight couples as well traveling. We've stayed at Pearl's four times total. This time we stayed for one night for nostalgic reasons and the 8 days remaining somewhere else. Future visits, we'll still visit Pearl's Patio to hang out but will not stay over night. The front desk staff person who checked us in was rude and hasty also (young male). Kind of a bummer of an experience this time. Over charged.

I love it, it was so cozy. The people that work there, are so friendly. It is so clean, the restroom was so clean. The location is excellent. Near to the beach, walking distance. Good resturants around. Best of all the service was super.
We leave the Ipad, the day we check out. And they send us the equipement, back to P.R. we really appreciate that. Excellent service. They are the best.

This was our third and most likely last visit to Pearl's in Key West. We enjoyed meeting some other lesbian couples, and some of the straight couples as well, but preferred Pearl's when it was a women only guesthouse. A couple of the very drunk guys, especially one that was falling down and hanging out in the pool with all the women, was unpleasant. Our room was fine with a nice private deck and refrigerator. The staff in the dining room and at the front desk were helpful and nice. A bit run down around the edges, but a good deal on the whole. We will stay at a gay/lesbian guesthouse next time.

Stayed at Pearl's and was so surprised at the positive changes and wonderful staff. The Patio Bar served up some great drinks and good food while sitting by the pool. My room was large and comfortable. Loved the whole experience.

I spent July 4th to July 8th 2012 at Pearls and had such an amazingly fantastic time!

As soon as my boyfriend and I arrived we were greeted by Ivy behind the front desk. She was so nice and wonderful and that kindness continued throughout our entire stay by her and everyone on the staff. We toured the property which is amazing. Two pool areas, two hot tub areas, a patio bar, four (maybe more) balcony patios, fitness center, and a cute dining room where breakfast is served. They layout of everything is fantastic; all the areas are seperated a bit, so you don't feel like there's one pool area where everyone at the entire resort will be hanging out.

We stayed in room 303. This is one of the third floor rooms where the ceiling is slanted. This was not at all a problem. I read a lot of reviews where people complained about this, but they state is explicitly on the website, and these rooms are priced less than other rooms. So stop complaining. Also, people complained about parking, which on the website they state is limited. Again, stop complaining!

The breakfast, which is part of the bed and breakfast option, was really good as well. There were enough choices that kept it from being boring during a four day stay. And it was enough food that everyday we only ate that and dinner -- so it saved us a ton of money on our trip.

It's adult only. Need I say more? No kids running around -- amazing!!!

All that being said, I can't wait to go back to Key West and stay at Pearls!

Room Tip: The rooms with the slanted ceilings are a great value! It's such a wonderful resort that you nev...

My husband and I spent June 12 - June 14, three nights at Pearl's Bed & Breakfast. The location is great! Breakfast was convienent, fast and a full breakfast ordered from a menu...no..continental...donuts and coffee only-- deal, like you might find at other places. Pam did an excellent job of serving us breakfast each morning. Food at Pearl's was fabulous!!! The property is clean and private. Of course you get a good workout when getting up to the 3rd floor but hey, they tell you that if you visit there website. Yes, elevators would be great to have for both the guests and the staff but think about when the main building was built. The pools and hot tubs were very well maintained and inviting. I would definitely recommend this b & b to my friends.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground level unit if you don't mind paying a higher price.
