“Amazing stay over New Year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2012

We stayed at Pearls for 4 nights over the New Year and had a fantastic time. Check in was efficient and welcoming. We had a king room which was large, modern and well equiped. We were near the gym and ice making machine and we were woken up at 6.30am every morning buy someone collecting ice and for the first 2 mornings also at 7.30am by the man in the next room who could not work his shower but we did end up laughing about it with the chef who was collecting the ice, as they were like wake up calls.
We enjoyed the pool area and also Pearls patio. All staff were professional and welcoming and all the other guests we met were friendly.
I would not hesitate in staying at Pearls again as it is convienient to all of Key West's attractions being just off Duval Street and you can walk to most places.
What can I say New Year's Eve was fun in Key West and the sunsets and weather were amazing.

The third floor of this B & B is a finished attic and our room (301) was small with over half of it's ceiling sloped. We had to walk up two flights of stairs to reach it. Call us crazy but we absolutely loved it. It was extremely reasonable for Key West at $119.00 per night through Hotwire. We stayed for 7 nights. We are both physically fit and were not bothered by the stairs or ducking our heads due to the ceiling. The room was clean and the beds were comfy, and the shower was large. My husband remarked on how quiet the room was. The breakfast not only saved us the expense of eating out, but the food was phenomenal. The location was a half block away from Duval, which is excellent. We walked everywhere. The only negative for me, was the bathroom was a little messy in it's detail. For example some of the grout was missing in and around the shower. The positive to that is the shower was clean and large and the water hot.
I think the fact that this was a former lesbian resort is a mute point. We saw a diversity in visitors that reflects Key West. My husband and I were extremely comfortable here.

Room Tip: If you have any physical restrictions, call them in person to find the room that best suits your nee...

Pearl's made Key West seem more like a vacation home than a hotel. The crew there were welcoming and accommodating, helpful, kind, and fun. We were sad to have to leave, but look forward to going back. Our family just got bigger! You guys ROCK! Thanks so much for taking our 15th anniversary over the top. We're still smiling. Keep the light on for us!

Room Tip: Hey, it was our 15th anniversary. We got the master suite. Nice, comfortable, quiet, roomy.

Nice old townhouse close to Duval street, Used to be ladies only, still favoured by ladies. Great breakfast. Good swiming pool and hot tubs at the back. Small room though. Limited free parking space.

We arrived late and were told there were no parking spaces available, but managed to find a spot up the street away from the metered parking that is directly infront of the hotel.

The room we were given was a free-standing cabin in the corner of a back courtyard. It was tiny with barely enough room to walk around each side of the double bed and had only one window that looked out onto a fence. The bathroom was very basic. Our door opened out directly onto the hot-tub, which could be considered convenient, but was really quite awkward when people were using it as I'm not sure they realised the cabin was a actually room. Strangely, this was the only cabin that I saw on the property, and given its location I wondered if it was not a converted storage shed.
The breakfast was great with lots of choice, and they give you a voucher for a free drink at the bar on arrival. The hotel location is very central, just up a side road off the south end of Duval. Very close to the action but not noisy like you might expect. But overall I think that Peal's is overpriced for what it is and you could probably look around and find a better place to stay in Key West.

We booked for 3 nights with deposit being paid. My partner asked Ivey, who booked the room, if there would be an issue getting a room if we arrived a day earlier on Tuesday. She was told there would not be any issue as it didn't get busy until Wednesday. We called about 30 minutes out and spoke to Ivey who told me that there must have been a miscommunication and there were no rooms for the night. We asked to speak to a manager, Michele who told us there would be a room, but not the one we had booked. When we arrived, we were treated as though we were an issue rather than paying guests. Ivey checked us in. We could have confronted her about her screw up, but we did not. Still, we were treated as though we were a bother. We were not given a receipt even though we paid the room in full. We were told that there had been changes with the computer and we'd get the receipt on check out.
The next day we were told that there was a plumbing issue in the room we originally booked. We were told we would be moved to the second floor. I advised them that I couldn't do that due to a knee issue. We were finally told we could stay in the room we'd been booked to the first night, but again not without being made to feel we were a bother.
We went to use the hot tub-plumbing problem! Although the girl who was working on the pool was the friendliest person during our stay.
Although areas were smoke free, the bar was at the back of our building. They would leave the door open at night and the smell of smoke would come down the hall into our room.
It was cool during our stay which was a blessing as the air conditioners were poor performing window units.
At check out, they tried to add charges to our bill but couldn't explain what they were. We asked for the receipt promised, but were given only a read out of the charges. We were told someone would call us the next day. Again computer issues were blamed.
The next day Steve called and said that there had been an error and we did not owe the charges. A receipt would be emailed...
This is a quaint little place with a nice outdoors area. The rooms are substandard and definitely NOT worth the price. We stayed here because it is supposed to be gay friendly. I didn't see much "friendly" at all.
The breakfast was nice.
I wouldn't stay here again. There is an attitude with the staff that is not welcoming, especially for a bed and breakfast.
And four parking spaces for the whole facility? Ridiculous!
The location is great, but there are other places better to stay .
Don't recommend.

We stayed the week before Christmas 2011. The resort is very relaxed, comfortable, and welcoming. The resort is no longer gay only but is still very gay friendly. Lot's of diversity in the people staying there. The breakfast far surpassed anything we expected. They had a full menu of changing options everyday with wonderfully flexible hours. Breakfast as late as 11am is perfect given the nightlife in Key West.

Staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The bar staff was especially friendly and nice. We really enjoyed hanging out there since they were all so nice to talk to. The resort is at the quiet end of Duval on a cross street. However, being right off Duval makes it centrally located to all the action. We rented bikes and travel all over. Everything is flat and extremely accessible to bikes. Lots of bike racks everywhere.

The room was delightful, clean, well maintained, and smelled fresh and terrific everyday. We stayed in rm 115 and it was surprisingly small. Very little space to walk around the bed and only one bedside table. The shower was also cramped. This being said, we did not plan to do much other than sleep and bathe in our room so it was perfect for what we needed. We cruise regularly and the room and shower were similar to what you encounter in a cabin. We are used to the small space and did not have any issue with it. If you are not used to cruise ship cabins, make sure you ask for a larger room when you book.

Though we did not swim while we were there, ther are two or three heated pools, two or three hot tubs, tons of lounge chairs and lots of wonderful common areas.

We will definitely be back. Wonderful resort, wonderful position in Old Town, and wonderful staff.

Room Tip: Avoid room 115 if you are not used to staying in a cruise ship cabin. Very small and a very small s...
