“Just a sandwich place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

I had seen the reviews on TA and other sites, so I wanted to check out Paseo. First it is a little out of the way and off of the beaten path, second it is basically a walk up sandwich stand, although they have other entrees. There is no formal seating, just a few picnic tables out front, which could be full if it is crowded. The sandwiches are very large, so I'd consider sharing them if you can.

“Great Cuban Style Food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Went there at the recommendation of the fellow who operates Garbo's Grill who was closing early for a wedding that day. The food is fresh, and the sandwiches are huge, my spouse and I split the Ham and Cheese. The only tables are outside, and there are only a couple of them, but we shared with a couple from Pittsburgh and our friends, 6 all together, and we had a great lunch chatting about football, teaching and the like. All the food was excellent. Maybe next year we'll get to try Garbo's.

“delicious and worth the hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

This place is sort of in the middle of nowhere, but it's definitely worth going out of your way for. (It's across the street from the Old Town Bakery, so you can combine trips.) We were wandering around after a disappointing lunch elsewhere and saw Paseo's outdoor seating packed with people, so we looked it up as soon as we got back to our condo. (Thanks, TripAdvisor!) We said we'd go for lunch, but our plans didn't quite work out. On our last morning in Key West, I detoured on our way to the airport and picked up a roast pork sandwich to eat on the plane. It was a bit messy and pungent to eat in close quarters, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It was moist, tender and absolutely delicious. The only downside to this place, and it's just a quibble: there are only three tables and a long bench (all outdoors on a rather dreary, busy street), so avoid the lunch rush or get your food to go.

“Yummy Cheap Eats”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

This is VERY good food and lots of it at a reasonable cost. We did take-away and went to Fort Zachary State Park and enjoyed the beach for a "locals" experience. The grilled corn was excellent and the number 8 sandwich was more than enough for two people. Our friends had scallops and a side of beans (super yummy) and rice. This is one of the best values on the island and located in an old converted gas station. It has limited seating - thus the park beach visit.
