We planned a trip to combine leisure with some sight-seeing. Having two teenage boys along we were hoping for some activities at the resort. The beach which was advertised seemed like it would be a great place for them to practice their soccer skills.
I was disappointed. The beach is more for little kids. There are chaise lounges on most of it, along with the grills.
The pool is only 4.5 feet deep. There was a building which may have served once as a little activity station but it was all locked up. (Maybe used once for refreshments?)
Our friends stayed at the Hyatt Windward Pointe. Much more teen friendly. They have beach volleyball, pool tables, ping pong, shuffleboard, a larger, deeper pool and activities for the family. A beautiful view of the ocean!
There is not a great view of the ocean from the Beach House. It is set back in off of the main road and off of a channel.
I definitely would not return.

Based on some of the reviews, I didn't know what to expect but our family of 5 had a great experience. Our unit was immaculate (and I am very picky). We had a direct view of the gulf from the screened in patio for $199.00 a night. We booked one night and ended up staying a second night. For a family with kids, it was a real plus not to stay near the Duval Street party area. The kitchen is well stocked if you want to eat in and the master bathroom with the spa tub and large shower were nice. It was also a plus to have a washer/dryer. I highly recommend this Hyatt over a hotel especially for a family with kids/teens.

This time-share rental was perfect for our family's adventure to Key West, Fl. We went based on the recommendation of good friends, and were not disappointed in the least. The staff was impecible, the accommodations were just as expected, and the resort was beautiful and exactly what we wanted and needed for a family with 10 and 12 year old daughters. This property has a beautiful lagoon pool with zero entry, a private sandy area with cabana-style seating, and a dock overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Being on the northwest side of the island, immediately after crossing the bridge into Key West, it is a perfect distance from the fun nightlife on Duval, but not far at all... some couples even bicycled daily to the Old Town area. (the island is only 4 miles long to begin with!) Each Monday, the conceirge holds a breakfast by the pool complete with directors from manyh of the local entertainment venues - this is a great opportunity to attend a short meeting and rack up on some great discounts on things that you will want to do during the week, such as Lloyd's Famous Bicycle Tour and MANY water sport adventures. The only thing that the Hyatt does not have is a restaurant or bar on location, but you do have a full kitchen in your rental, plus many, many amazing restaurants in Old Town and near the water. We will be back.... things could not have been more perfect!

We spent a wonderful week at the Hyatt Beach House-Key West. Yes, its a few miles into Old Town Key West but its kind of nice to get out of the noise, hustle and bustle of Duval Street. The accomodations are certainly spacious and first rate. The small beach area is sort of contrived but then there really is no true "beach" at Key West. The water is crystal clear and there is a nice dock. The condo property could use a few more amenities like a pool bar, and an on sight restaraunt but it certainly offers quality acommodations.

Beautifully landscaped, large rooms, best king sized bed I've slept in, screened in porch, whirlpool bath in bedrooms, full kitchen, swimming pool geared to children & non-swimmers, hot tub, gas grills for barbecuing, books & games in office, sandy beach with an abundance of chairs for sunbathing, small beach for snorkeling, a dock for fishing & pleasant helpful employees. This resort is on the opposite side of the key from noise of Mallory square & Duvall St. with access to the restaurant, beach & exercise facilities of the other Hyatt's on Key West. This is a perfect place for families with children but probably too far from the action if you want to get drunk & pick up people on Duvall St. 2-3 minutes by car from the other side of the island where parking can be a problem.
