We just completed a week's stay at the Hyatt Beach House in Key West. The accommodations are first class! The rooms were awesome. Big and spacious and well equipped for cooking purposes. The screened in porch was the best and made the rooms so much bigger. The pool area was great and the staff was very helpful. There is a small Tiki Hut that was not always open, but offered drinks and snacks on nice days. There is really not much of a beach, so if you are looking for a beach resort, this is not the place. Actually, Key West is not really a beach resort area, although it does have a couple of nice beaches. Lots of families with small children at the resort. Relaxed atmosphere.
The location of this hotel is nice, as it is not right in the downtown area. My only complaint was the public bus transportation. Do not count on getting around on the bus. The taxi's were great and so was the Bone Island Shuttle which you can get next door at the Holiday Inn. I would suggest renting a car for convenience sake.
Just an FYI. If you are renting this hotel for just the week and are not a vacation club owner, you are entitled to maid service daily. Unfortunately, our room was not cleaned daily and I had to ask twice for maid service. As soon as I asked, they were more than helpful, but felt that I should not have had to ask for this service which was suppose to be included with my stay. Other than that, great place, nice people, and a relaxing spot to vacation.
