We stayed at the Southwind in February in 2013 for one night. We had a walk-in rate on a coupon that I picked up in a discount coupon book at the welcome center. I did not realize that the advertised rate was for a single, but Bob upgraded us to a double at a discounted rate.(keep in mind that things aren't necessarily cheap in Key West-but still a great value) The property looks like it was a step back in time to a 1940's tourist court. The property is immaculately clean and well-maintained. There is no frills, but it is close to Duval St.-one block over, but on the South end near the Southernmost point and it is a 1.2 mile walk to the North end of Duval at Mallory Square-this may be an issue if you are unable to walk this far, but for us it was fine. I would stay here again in the future. There is a pool and a coin laundry on the property.
