“Will Go There Again For Sure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Stayed for three nights which was not enough. From the minute we checked in we fell in love with this place. The staff was super nice and the place very clean. Our room with a balcony which overlooked the pool by the Pinapple Bar was super clean and very nicely decorated. Bathroon very nice and bed really comfortable. The eniter Southernmost Resort area was just so nice to hang out at. All the pools were so relaxing and the staff was always making sure you were ok. We ate lunch twice at the cafe on the beach and it was delicious. When we told the waitress it was our anniversary she brought us a fun Mango Mimosa with two straws in it and then didn't charge us for all the other drinks we had. Took part in the "beer and wine school" they had and that was a lot of fun plus we learned some things. There was a great tanning pier over the ocean with stairs down to the water. That was so nice since the beach area was not all that great. This allowed you to get in the ocean without walking through seaweed. The resrot is located directly at the end of the main drag in town so you can walk to everything. The town of KW was awesome. It poured rain one day and it didn't stop anyone from doing anything. We went on the Conch Train Tour which was great to learn about the history of the island. We are for sure going to go back to KW and stay longer. . Next time flying to the island direct instead of flying to Miami and driving the three hours. This way we will not need a rental car at all. And the only place we will stay is the Southermost Hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms over looking Pinapple Bar pool were very quiet. Rooms overlooking Tranquility Pool also looks...

We stay in Key West two or three times a year, and have stayed at many different hotels. Tried the Southernmost this trip, and we wont be staying anywhere else. The junior sweet is awesome for just a few dollars more, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, far enough from Duval so that it isn't noisey, yet close enough when you want to be there.

Room Tip: Junior sweet is well worth the extra money, if you don't mind not being directly on the beach, h...

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights. Our stay was great the staff was amazing! When we booked our stay months ago the reservation specialist asked if it was a special occasion. I told her yes, our wedding anniversary. To our surprise the second night guest services brought us a bottle if bubbly! So sweet!! Nothing but greatness for the hotel! Just get ready to walk!!!!

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend stay at Southernmost Hotel. The room was very clean and hotel staff very friendly. We spent some time at each of the 3 pools and enjoyed them all. Live music at the pool was very enjoyable. Had a couple of meals at the hotel's cafe on the beach. Food and drinks were very good. Front desk was responsive to any request we had.

Hotel is located at the south end of the key. In the evening we would take a taxi to the north end of the key. We had dinner on the north end and we also liked the north area to watch the sunset. After dinner each night we would walk back to our hotel straight down Duval Street. It was dark out at the time of the night (10:00 - 11:00 PM) We never felt unsafe and the approx 1 1/2 mile walk was a great way to walk off a little of our dinner. Duval Street always has a lot of people on the street and on Saturday evening it was actually crowded on the street.

Morning coffee is an important start to my day, and the hotel provides coffee in the lobby. There is a great coffee shop across the street called "Frenchies" that has wonderful french pastries and coffees. Definitely schedule a visit to Frenchies if you are a coffee/pastry lover!
We were told that September is Key West's slow time of the year. I think it was a great time to spend a weekend there.

My only negative is that I was a little disappointed with the beach area. There was so much seaweed washed up on shore that it just was not very inviting to go into the water. If you are the type of person that never goes into the ocean water, you will be OK because the sand area was clean and hotel guests get free lounge chairs to use on the beach.

Room Tip: We liked our balcony room on the second floor.

Visitors should note this hotel is at the opposite end of Duval Street to the busy end so you should be willing to walk or find an alternative means to get to the harbour, mallory square and most restaurants. That said we found the hotel to be very nice, quiet, facilities were all good and the check in desk and concierge service very helpful. Housekeeping of the entire site was excellent too.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week in early September. The hotel and the staff are top notch. From the moment we arrived they treated us like we were first class and all the way through our stay. The hotel is on the quiet side of Duval Street and everything is within walking distance. All three pools are great and the event planner Mark is awesome! His wine and beer schools are not only informative and fun but you also get free booze! We both agree we could never stay at any other hotel on the island.

We love the Southernmost Hotel! It has a great location on the far southern end of Duval street so that you are within walking distance to everything, but its nice and quiet at night. There are 2 pools on site and one across the street at Southernmost at the Beach. We booked our room through a third party discount site for far less than the normal price. We ended up with a small room, but its just right for the two of us. There is a fridge and microwave, with a large flat panel tv. The staff has been wonderful so far, including giving us some free drinks when they learned it was my husband's birthday. Parking is free and ample. We rented bikes through the hotel, and I recommend them as a great way to see the area attractions. We will definitely be back!
