This was our 5th year in a row staying at the Key West Harbor Inn. As always, it was a great experience. We couldn't be happier with the accomodations and atmosphere. We're already booked for another stay in 2009.

This was our 1st time staying in Key West and resv. this B&B based on great reviews from this website. We stayed in the Jamacia room based on reviews. It has its own private entrance and No foot traffic. The room with the A/C running is quiet even though it faces the front of the street, on the 2nd floor. Room is Large, high ceiling, great shower, hardwood floors, ceiling fans, small fridge, coffee maker, small tv, no phone-which you don't need anyway. Room A/C worked excellent, King bed and pillows comfortable, room and bathroom Very clean with maid svc everyday. Great breakfast incl. in the rate with flav. coffee, fresh fruits, etc everyday. Pool is heated and clean. They have a small happy hour each after noon from 4:30-5:30. They will set out a "tip" jar, so if you want a srong drink, leave a tip, per my husband's experience. They have bike rentals which is great. Everything within walking or bike ride away. Tracey and staff are all very nice and very helpful to answer any questions you have about Key West.
We took the seaplane and it was a Hair raising experience on the way back, as out of the corner of my eye, I look up front at the control panel only to see the "LOW FUEL" sign flashing when we were out in the middle of the ocean with sharks below us!! We still have 20 min. to go back to shore!! It is your call, but I WOULD NEVER do it again. The plane sat 4 of us and is very tight in the back seat, so if you go, take the middle row. Going over your are only 500 ft above sea level and the views are excellent in the water. You will see huge sea turtles, BIG black tip sharks, sting rays. Fort Jefferson is great for the history, but the water is not that clear and the reef, fish are not abundant here. The seaplane is very expensive-about $300.00 per person.
You will not need a rental car here and parking is terrible anyway, so if you drive in, park it and leave it and rent a bike, motor scooter or hoof it.
Fort Zachery Taylor beach is a great way to spend the day. Rent a chair and umbrella. The snack stand has pretty good sandwiches, clean bathrooms.
If we return to Key West again, I would stay here and stay in the Jamacia room again in a heart beat! One word of Advice: If you get bug bites, bring your bug spray, as even in April, they were out early in the morning and after sunset!! You won't even see them flying around they are so tiny!
My husband and I travel to Key West often, at least 3
times a year, and this is one of our favorite B&Bs.
The location is EXCELLENT, the staff EXTREMELY
FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS, and the rooms and
overall property are BEAUTIFUL. You have many
choices in Key West, but this one should always
be your first.
We have probably stayed at Key West Harbor Inn ten times. The location is perfect, close to the Marina where you can find food or a Sunset Cruise, and three short blocks to the north end of Duval Street, where the action is.
The Inn is clean and well maintained. Although it is close to the streets, the beautiful thick tropical landscaping makes it like an oasis. The rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable.
Breakfast is offered until 10:30AM. I don't recall how early they start since we are rarely out of the room before 9AM on a Key West morning! The offerings include a very nice selection of fresh pastries, juices, fruit, cereals, and coffee. Afternoon happy hour includes a full bar, though the appetizers are modest, such as chips and dip, salsa, and pretzels.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Tracy has been there several years, which speaks well of the stability of the Inn and its operation.
The HIGHLIGHT for us is the fact that they use the heat pump to CHILL the pool in the summer. We often visit on the 4th of July; a pool temperature around 80 degrees is a real treat!
The only DOWNSIDE is that some of the rooms are a bit small and with a king sized bed can be a little tight to navigate. Since most of the rooms are different, if you have an opportunity to view the rooms before choosing it is a good idea. We have a favorite which I'm not sharing! Also, be aware that parking can be a problem (anywhere in Key West, for that matter). We rent bikes and don't need a car while we visit so this has never been an issue for us, but is something to keep in mind.
If you like a small, quiet, comfortable B&B try the Key West Harbor Inn ... you won't be disappointed!
Absolutely perfect. Spotlessly clean. Tracy and Eva provided impeccable customer service - we felt totally pampered. The poolside happy hour was a great touch. Breakfasts were always wonderfully fresh and varied. Location was topnotch - close to absolutely everything. Our Puerto Rico room (Harbor View Suite) was spacious and quiet, and oh, that harbor view from our balcony. I do agree with another respondent who said it would be nice if the bicycles were complimentary but aside from that, I wouldn't change a thing.
