“The Best of Key West”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights after staying in another "Historic Inn" the previous 2 nights, and man what a difference! The level of service and immaculate kept grounds and rooms are an oasis in the tropical heat. With out a doubt we will be back, and not soon enough. The Rooms are neat, modern and very clean. The pool area was small but there are not very many rooms so it was never crowded. If you are looking to for a small quiet hotel in the heart of the happenings of Key West, you wont be dissapointed

Great location, close to activity, but also private if desired. Kim, at the front desk, is exceptional, so friendly and a great smile! Betty, in the bar area, a great conversationalist. Jean was a wonderful server during the breakfast .

Terrific little hotel right in the middle of everything! I would have rated the service higher if I could have! Betty at the bar, was friendly and outgoing and very helpful at advising great things to do and see in Key West. Plus, she has a very heavy pour! Kim and Sean at the front desk were amazing with their restaurant recommendations and other sightseeing adventures. They never steered us wrong! We can't wait to return to KW and back to the hotel to visit with the new friends we made at the Orchid Key!

First trip to Key West. Just a quick 4 day- 3 night trip. Drove down from Ft. Lauderdale .Two couples from New England celebrating our 30th wedding anniversaries. It is sometimes difficult to believe anonymous reviews, but every time I have used Trip Advisor they have been completely accurate. This time was no exception. Picked the Orchid Key Inn based on Trip Advisor reviews and could not have been happier with our choice! Everything was just as advertised. Clean large rooms, great little bar, complementary breakfast and most of all very pleasant and friendly staff (Thank you Brandon, Kim, Betty , and Jean !) that could not do enough to make your stay perfect. This is, as advertised, a renovated 50's era one story, old time motel, not unlike we have in Cape Cod. However, there is nothing even close to this on the Cape! We weren't sure what to expect, but having stayed at the Ritz Carlton Residences in SF and the Bellagio in Las Vegas, we were equally pleased with the Orchid Key Inn! A completely different setup from a large hotel, but every bit as impressive. As others have stated best location is poolside if possible (we stayed on the driveway side, did not hear a thing and were completely happy.) Perfectly located in the center of Duval Street, bike shop, tour stop across the street, CVS around the corner in case you forgot something, 10 minute walk to Mallory Square ,5 minutes to the Southernmost end. With rooms that were spacious and clean and beds that were extremely comfortable, a large walk in shower, two huge TV's, mini refrigerator and microwave, nice small pool and hot tub, comfortable lounge chairs, etc., we could have hung around the motel and been perfectly content! But no one should come to Key West to hang in the room! We too happened upon Fantasy Fest, at least the first few days of it, and all we could say was "WOW"- what a time!! Everyone, no matter what age should experience it ! Lastly, took the Sunset Cruise on the Danger schooner and that was unbelievable! Only 12 passengers and all the beer, wine and munchies you can eat for the two hour sail! Don't pass this up! All in all we would recommend this motel to everyone! Know what it is. Personal service almost B and B like, not a large resort and you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to come back, only this time for a longer stay!!

We have had a wonderful stay at the Orchid Key, this is our first trip to Key West and we will be returning to the Orchid Key for our next visit! Kim, Jean and Betty help to make our visit extra pleasant with their outstanding service, smiles and kindness. The rooms are very clean and the shower is fantastic. The breakfast by the pool is a great time to relax and enjoy your morning before you start the day of exploring Key West. The Orchid Key Inn definitely deserves a 5 star rating!!

This is the perfect hotel. Don't be fooled by the retro signage (which we loved); this place is a hidden gem. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very, very clean. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing. The staff is terrific, and they offer a complimentary breakfast and free drink. The staff fixed free snacks one afternoon while we were relaxing at the pool. This hotel is much nicer than you would find in a similarly priced chain hotel. I will come back and would not stay anywhere else in Key West.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the pool.

Our first trip to Key west, and we chose Fantasy week.... Not on purpose, but had alot of fun people watching! The hotel was great, reminded me of California one story motels, but extremely nice rooms. The bed was very comfortable, and my wife is now in search of the cool headboard. The pool is small but perfect, and was great for relaxing while enjoying the free breakfast, and drinks in the evening. Everyone is very nice, and had great suggestions for boat trips, restaurants, and navigating the festival activities. When we return to the keys, we will be back
