We stayed at the Island City House for 4 nights at the end of 2-week holiday in Florida. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was large and quite clean, well appointed, and the air conditioning (We stayed in August) quiet and efficient. The highlight has to be the beds probably the most comfortable hotel bed with nice bed linens and many pillows. The gentlemen at the front desk were very welcoming and very helpful. Location is in the heart of the old city but away from the crowds and noise on Duval Street. The bars and restaurants of the Historic Seaport are only one block away. We have already decided to stay at the Island City House again and to pass on the name of the hotel to others heading to Key West.

We are a couple of "twenty-somethings" and found this place to be cozy and quiet enough to relax after being out and about in the town but also very stylish and updated as well. There are many types of tourists. Us personally, we craved local charm but also hold high regards for good linens and tidiness in accomodations. This place is just excellent. The staff (owners?) at the front desk(Matt & Gaines) very professional and helpful. The towels, linens and curtains all white and trust me, they looked and felt as if they were just bought. The suite was super clean and you can tell their attention to detail is superb. Our suite had a kitchen and it was equipped with everything you could need. I am particularly finicky about bathrooms and he bathroom here was so, so clean. I did not really expect many toilettries in a bed and "breakfast-ish" hotel but it even had eye makeup remover towelettes along with lotion, soaps, etc.
As far breakfast goes, don't expect much, but rather eat a few fruits and have some coffee to boost you up and then go to Blue Heaven for an interesting breakfast experience.
From there you can also walk to the seaport for a sunset cruise and the opposite way to Duval.

This hotel was quite charming, an excellent place to stay in Key West. The service was outstanding from the front desk to the maid service. Our suite was super clean and nicely appointed, a king bed in the bedroom and a separate living room with a kitchen & French doors to a balcony with Adirondack chairs and a hammock. You could not ask for a better location in Old Town, you could walk to everything. The staff was very helpful in directing us to all that Key West has to offer, as this was our first visit to Key West.
We had a great dinner at A&B Lobster House, but I think my favorite meal was lunch at Latitudes on Sunset Key, ASK ABOUT THIS.

Our third stay at Island City House and hopefully not our last. On our last visit we liked our room so much that we asked for it again and got it. Cigar House, top floor with a private balcony. Heaven. This really is the most wonderful hotel. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

Superb accommodation with just about everything that you could need. Excellent.

Island City House is in a perfect location - close to Duval Street and just about everything you could want - but still relatively quiet.

Parking wasn't a problem; we parked near the hotel and didn't use the car again until we left.
