We were planning to stay at a "chain" hotel and my daughter insisted that we get the true Key West experience and stay at a guest style house - so we booked with some trepidation not really knowing what to expect. However, any worries were unfounded. Their website is a good one with lots of pertinent information. We booked the loft and found it to be more than comfortable -upstairs/downstairs, very clean with comfortable beds and a small porch overlooking the pool area. The front desk people were ultra helpful (thank you especially to Morgan). We liked the location which is within easy walking distance of Duval St. - but not too close. Our only complaint is that we were so busy during our stay we did not have time to spend at the pool which looked most inviting. Best of all, at the end of our busy days, it was a most peaceful atmosphere. We will be back.

We enjoyed three days at Eden house, just prior to Christmas this year.
The staff were very friendly and provided good advice on things to do and see. The location of the hotel is perfect for sightseeing, without being too close to Duval. The small feel of the hotel added a comfortable feeling to our stay.

The pool and the hot tub as well as the common areas are well laid out to permit enjoyment of the Key West weather.

To mirror comments of previous reviewers, the basic rooms are quite small (not enough room for a closet), but clean and well laid out. The mattress in our room, 211, had seen better days. The off-brand happy hour liquor could also benefit from an upgrade.

Overall our experience was a good one and we would likely choose the Eden House again, however we would upgrade to a larger room.

My wife, our 1 yr old daughter and I visited Key West over this past Christmas and decided to stay at the Eden House based on the reviews on this website. I must say I can't understand what the basis is for the great press about Eden House. Our room, an 'apartment', was extremely underwhelming. The best way to describe it is as a makeshift college apartment, the bathroom was separated from our bed area by a small curtain; the list of inadequacies is long and I don't want to bore. The woman at the front desk was unhelpful, even bordering on rude. We were so unhappy that we moved out after one very uncomfortable night. I am not into bashing places but I do want to warn people that this place, while having pleasant common areas, is not a paradise away from home.
Caveat emptor...

I just stayed at The Eden House for a second time, and it was again fantastic. I am however shocked to see that some other guests that have written reviews on this site have given less then 5 stars. I think some people just can't wait to complain about anything. For shame. That aside, I have been to The Eden House with both my brothers, and with my girlfriend; and none of us can wait until we return. The waterfalls add a soothing sound, the staff is unbelievably handy and polite, and the atmosphere is amazing (especially the lighting at night)!!!! To the rude reviewers, go stay at a Holiday Inn and get rude, unhelpful, unintelligent, service, who wouldn't know how to reccomend a restaurant other then McDonalds.....to anyone else that wants to stay at a wonderful place where old & young, rich & poor, local & out-of-towner all get treated like they are one of the family.....stay at The Eden House :)
