Have stayed at the Blue Marlin many times over a period of 15 years.Always found the property well kept.The location is great,away from the hustle and bustle of the other end of Duval Street and all the night life.We always rent bicycles to get around.Great value for its proximity to Old Town.

Picked this joint on the recomendation of a friend who had stayed there. One block off of Duval, about a mile or so walk to the "party" area of Duval. At $95 a night it was clean, staff was friendly, pool was happening and it felt secure. I would recomend it and stay there again.

We stayed at the Blue Marlin in May for 2 nights. The service was friendly and very helpful, the spacious room was clean and the pool area was absolutely great. You will get coffee all time and the cont. breakfast was ok (orange juice, jam, cream cheese and bagels). Located close to the southernmost point, you have to cross the island to watch the sunset.
I absolutely recommend the Blue Marlin. It's a very nice place to relax after a long night at key west or for a short family stay.

Negatives:

It may be the worst hotel I have ever been too. We were charged a very high deposit with out being told about it. That isn't even where things got bad. We had construction in the room next to us the first night so I asked the front desk if it would continue the rest of the week. They said it was the last night. Needless to say it wasn't. They were laying carpet at 9:00AM which requires an air nail gun. The worst part was they had extra hotel rooms so they could have moved us. Besides the construction the hotel is not in a good location in comparison to the main bars, the pool looks much nicer in the pictures then it does in person and the staff is unfrienly.

Positives:
The rooms are clean, you feel safe parking your car there and staying in the room.
