Great place to meet local and other artists. The studios on the second floor are accessible on the walk on White every month with the artists greeting everyone and willing to discuss their art. The gallery on the first floor is large and airy and can accommodate a nice size group. the sculpture garden is a delight too.
We wandered into the studio on a whim, not knowing much about it and were pleasantly surprised by the excellence of the local artwork. The artist in residence was preparing for a “paining in the round” type class that sounded fun, interesting and unique. We were the only guests at the time and were given a private tour of the historic building and enlightenment of lots of the art. The work on display, much of which was for sale, was very high quality. This unexpected stop became a major highlight of our trip to Key West.
This is a wonderful addition to the Key West cultural scene. Artists inhabit the studios upstairs and in the house next door. YOu get to see the art being made and on display in the hallways and exhibition space downstairs. The hall is also used for some really wonderful concerts.
a fabulous piece of work from a local artist. Liked it so much, I had it shipped home to NY. A wide variety of art to choose from or to just peruse and enjoy!
Lots of great art studios in Key West. Many locals display their art. This studio has seveal different artists work. I always try to shop around and seem to always end up in here twice on my trips down here. Great place!
