Where to I start? The room was a mess. The bathroom had been “cleaned” but there was still a hair on the toilet when we arrived and the tub had a broken drain. The bed was broken and the mattresses were saggy and uncomfortable. Not only did the bed make the night long but the air conditioner that worked at half speed couldn’t keep up with the heat. Perhaps it was the large crack in the window that rendered it insufficient. There were footprints on the door, the carpet was filthy and the door on the dresser was missing a handle. The light from the mini fridge shined though the door…all…night…long, and for an extra $30 they would give you the key to us it. The light on the night stand had melted the lamp shade in several spots and the electrical outlets had not affixed correctly leaving gaps into the wall. Outside was the same thing. We didn’t have any problems with chickens but there was a thick smell of peppers that was repulsing. The dumpster was right under the stair. The daily smell of peppers and garbage in the heat was more then evident day and night and never went away for the 4 nights we were there. One of the air conditioners down the hall from our room leaked so badly that there was a towel stuffed under it to catch condensation but it was in vain as a huge puddle developed in the center of the hallway. There are plenty of other places in Key West to stay for comparable money. We recommend different accommodations.

I definetly think that some of the reviews posted were harsh. I actually found this hotel to be very nice. Upon check-in I was upgraded for free to a king bed suite. It was amazing! the room was the size of 2 hotel rooms and it had a balcany. The rooms was clean, there were a few big stains on the carpet, but the rug still felt clean. The towels and sheets were clean and didn't have any stains. There were a few ants around the sink in the kitchen area, but no sign of any infestation. The pool was clean and there was plently of seating. There continental breakfast needs some work, but it is listed as a "lite breakfast" There is wireless access in the lobby, and the staff was very helpful in booking some of the attractions. Yes there are roosters that crow early in the morning, but I they seemed to be all over Key West. I don't think its Days Inn's fault that the roosters are on their property. For $80 a night in key west you can't beat it! I would definetly say give this place a try if your visiting the key west area.

I was rather surprised and /or concerned at some of the complaints about this hotel. Granted it is rather far out of town. I think it is 3.8mi. ,much further than I would care to walk. The room was clean,roomy and quiet. We did have a car and a public parking garage was within walking distance to the downtown area. I only paid $87.00 a night and stayed for 5 days. Well worth the money and a great experience was had by all! P.S. The chickens are EVERYWHERE (roosters and hens alike) just part of the charm!

Where do I start? The rooms were filthy, lots of grime everywhere. The smoke alarm didn't work. There was paint coming off the wall and mould in some area's of the room. Half the tv channels had no sound, not that we were watching much tv but noted all the same. Light in bathroom came off the wall, wasn't really surprised as place is a dump. Carpet was filthy altogether, with stains everywhere albeit nasty ones at that. The inns clientèle consisted of half wits and hill billies, who sat around the pool all day drinking beer and eating tutsy rolls.

The pools was nice, but an iguana urinated and left a large sample of excrement near the pools edge, that discouraged me from using the pool. needles to say it wasn't cleaned up by the pool staff. Much later some half wit tried removing the excrement using a leaf, yes a leaf who only made the situation worse by spreading all over the place.

Breakfast = Type 2 diabetes, the fruit loops are definitely carcinogenic avoid. So we breakfasted in the waffle hut, but I am not reviewing it so I will not comment on how greasy the food is.

And finally if you are staying pool side you will have an early morning call at 5.30 and subsequently every minutes there after, by the two cocks that live near the pool. Cock-a-doodle-do,why the days inn have two cocks and some hens on their motel I will never know.
