“A Great Hilton! A Waldorf Astoria It Is Not...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2010

Had a nice time and would recommend. However falls short of being anything above 4 stars...

The Good Stuff:
Property is modern, well maintained and beautiful.
All employees I encountered were profeshional and friendly. Doormen do a great job!
Room was larger than the norm, spotless, bright and smelled nice.
Bed quality, bath towels and toiletries are excellent.
Considering the location and Waldorf name; drinks and food are reasonably priced and allways tasty.

Areas lacking:
My room on the ground floor was intrusively loud! Little or no sound proofing from inside corridors and floors above. Was 6 doors from the elevator room and it could be heard all times of the day.
Upon entering my room: remote had dead batteries, TV was broken/falling over and a bathroom light was burnt out. Engineering/house keeping was fast to fix everything and left a nice note.
On-Demand movie options are limited/weak; not up to par with other hotel brands.
Only restauant on property is outside by the pool; nothing inside...
No bar service pool side.
No hot tub or steam room.
Gym is located across the street next to self parking. Stupid design/location???
Screaming kids running around pools and thru landscaping totally ruins the environment. The Casa Marina needs to allocate one pool for families...
No visable security anywhere/anytime. After returning late many evenings; hotel entrance is unmanned with no card access required? Anyone can come and go as they please...

Our visit to Key West was fantastic! We purchased our hotel accommodations from hotels.com and were pleasantly surprised how nice everything was given the price. The hotel was gorgeous, the room was comfortable, and the location was perfect. We did not eat a full meal at the hotel because the food on the main street in town was so appealing, but our hotel snacks were pretty good. Our biggest complaints (which are minimal) were the pools being overcrowded with kids that had large flotation devices, service was a hit or miss, and the room only had a stand up shower (no large tub here).

The Casa Marina is an outstanding hotel. Their employees, especially Jafre at the front desk, are all very helpful and friendly. Good food and better drinks, what else could you ask for?

We had a great time at the Casa Marina. The staff was friendly and attentive. The pool bar is a gem - the beach just a short saunter away was amazing for Key West (which has very few beaches). The rooms were a little low on the appointment and comfort level when compared with what you might expect from a Waldorf property. Let me be clear - the rooms were not a problem - just not as plush as expected. Thanks to the staff - we'll be back!

We had just spent 2 prior nights in Islamorada and were looking forward to this hotel. I had read the reviews and researched the area.. I booked an Oceanview room through the website. They offer AAA and AARP discounts. Since we are a Gold member with Hilton, we were upgraded to an oceanview suite on the ground floor. The room was updated, bathroom big but with the Hilton (Waldorf is a Hilton brand) trademark small shower/tub combo???? Also if the hotel management is reading this, please put a towel bar or more hooks for hand and bath towels. (Only one in this bathroom). I loved the tile floors and the bed was comfy. The best part of these grd floor suites was we had a little patio just steps from the beach and pool. For me that was what made this a hotel great. The resort fee plus a parking fee was the negative about this resort ($25 resort fee plus $15 to self park). You can expect resort prices for the restuarants on the property. We had a late meal at the bar..burger and chicken club, both very good. All in all a beautiful and elegant hotel!

This is a fantastic resort. Great staff - very attentive. Located right on the beach with hamocks and games available and the pool area was great as well. Its a bit of a walk from downtown, but it is located on a Tram stop so that helps. We liked it so much, we will be bringing our top performers here next year as a reward trip. The only negative (and I admit that it's picky) was that there was no way to print a boarding pass without going to the business center and paying $1.50 per page. nevertheless I would highly recommend this resort.

I just returned from my stay at Casa Marina and I was so disappointed! When I booked our trip I specifically asked for a quiet room where we could relax. I was assured they could accommodate us. However, when we arrived, we found they had put us in a room right over a wedding reception. I find it hard to imagine that this reception had not already been booked when I called to make our reservation . We asked to be moved but were told nothing was available. The manager assured us the reception would be ending in about an hour. No problem...we could handle an hour. Two hours later the reception was still going strong and the manager disappeared. She would not answer the phone and I kept being sent to voicemail. Finally, the hotel operator told me the manager told her to tell me the reception would be ending soon. Apparently the manger couldn't get on the phone herself and apologize for misinforming us earlier about how late this would go on. We would have left and come back later if we knew this would go on for two more hours. After the reception was over there was the taking down of the tables which was quite loud and went on for an hour. Then at six in the morning I awoke to carts being rolled around downstairs because...guess what...the breakfast buffet was to be served right under our room and they had to set that up. That's ok because we would be up soon anyway as housekeeping finds in necessary to vacuum at 7am here, although they won't show up to actually clean your room until around 2 pm. In addition, our room was tiny and our "grand ocean view" was obstructed. Overall, I left feeling like I was lied to and ripped off.
