Overall it was extremely nice. The pool was honestly my favorite part. The bathrooms could have been closer with maybe even a shower in them would have made it perfect. Rooms were ok, but lighting in the bathroom sick area was very dim. Espresso in room was fabulous!! I think it was just pricey for the accomodations considering the rest on the island and their rates.

The building is stunning. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. When you are here you just want to lay in a hammock and drink rum runners. With all older hotels the rooms are not large but who wants to hang out in a room when you have so much beauty outside your door. The only problem one might have is Duval St. is a bit of a walk in the heat and if your looking for a huge beach Key West is not the place to go.

This hotel was absolutely perfect. We got married on a beach close to the hotel and spent our honeymoon at the Key west. The hotel is a perfect place for a honeymoon. It is very romantic. All staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing bad to say at all.

Horrible ..... Took my daughter there last weekend for her first time in Key West. When I arrived the manager told me that they overbooked the hotel and I would not be getting the ocena view room that I requested and paid for. Ok I figure that sucks but make the best of it. Then when I went up to my room that was by the pool ( not bad if you don't mind your child being woken up all night ) and found the lavatory was leaking on the floor.... ( discusting ) called the desk and they sent up a maintenance person to repair. And he did.

Then the wifi was not working in my room. Called the front desk again to be told to reboot my computer. After several attempts to resolve myself I called the desk again. Not surprised they were no help. So my little girl was burning my data when she wanted to watch something more than the usual bs hotel tv. ( FYI she is only three )

Our first dinner and only dinner in the restaurant well lets say gave us stomach issues.

And to top it off when I was on my way home I noticed extra charges on my credit card. When I called the hotel they told me that the billing department was closed and would open Monday. So then I had to put a hold on my card and contact the other business in the area where I purchased items and informed them that if they had an issue with receiving payment to contact me and I would sort it out.

Guess they gave me the Lemmon room of the hotel. I'm sure the corporate office will be happy to hear from me : ).

LOOK AROUND THE AREA. YOU WILL FIND A NICE PLACE TO STAY

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Obviously you're almost to the Caribbean anyway but if you don't feel like bringing a passport, the Waldorf Astoria will make you feel like you are really farther away than you are. The Waldorf is a beautiful resort with all the amenities you could want. It's a little far from Duval Street but it is walkable with the right shoes! The room was lovely but the view was terrible but we didn't think the upgrade to ocean view/front was worth it. If you are going there to stay at the resort the entire time, you may want to consider the upgrade. The service was great and the resort was very relaxing. Definitely recommend!

This hotel has the most beautiful grounds on the island. If you want to just relax and rest under palm trees on the beach this is for you. Unfortunately, their are no reasonable places to eat at the hotel. Cheapest item on the poolside cafe was a $20 burger. Their is also no shuttle service into town. So if you want to leave the hotel you either walk or spend $12 on a cab each way. These were the two downsides of the hotel

The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The plantation Old Key West style of the building is open with dark wood floors and high ceilings, tile throughout encouraging you to stay barefoot ;)
The backside of the hotel opens to two large pools, an outdoor bar and dinning area, a private pier and beach, and lots of gorgeous palm trees, some of which are holding up my favorite feature.. The hammocks. A torch lit path will guide you at night, there are two large fire pits if it gets chilly, and the entirety of the grounds are private and secure. This is a quieter end if the island, Old Town, only a couple blocks from the southern most point and about a 10 minute walk to Duval Street. If you rent a bike (available at the hotel) you can be anywhere on the island in just minutes.
The rooms are tile as well, handy when you are always dragging in sand. Beds were comfy, room was updated and clean.
Breakfast was an outrageous $27 bucks a pop, so we skipped it and found lots of options on the island. It was lovely, and I won't stay anywhere else again!
