“What a beautiful place, you will have not regrets!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2010

I had my wedding at the Hyatt on 10/18/09 and the venue (The Shore) and rooms were gorgeous. Ava is the wedding coordinator and she is the "best". She pays attention to every detail and goes above and beyond. I cannot say enough about the atmosphere but simply amazing and the location on the island.

The room was clean and tastefully decorated. Had a great view from our room. People were nice. Key west was a delight. I wish I could stayed longer. Would go back anytime.

I stayed at the Hyatt Key West just this month (Dec. 2009) and absolutely loved it! I booked an ocean view room and it was gorgeous! My room looked brand new, had great decor, and was so fresh and clean that I was very pleased with it. Nice bathroom amenities as well.

Although the pool and beach areas are small, the hotel is put together nicely with a great outdoor pool area bar, with super comfy casual seating overlooking the ocean. A great place to grab a drink or bite to eat and watch the boats go by. The food at the Hyatt is super, I'd say some of the best hotel food I have ever had. Service is top notch, all the staff seem genuinely interested in making sure that guests having a nice stay. Everyone from the front door man to the wait staff at the restaurant was excellent. Way to go Hyatt Key West for promoting superior customer service! Because of this, I will surely go back again!

We arrived on Dec 6th for a 4 night stay, chose to stay the full 7 nights. Ken had no problem adding our nights. The lobby had the most delicious key lime smell, made you completely relaxed and the champagne was a wonderful touch!
We came to Key West to celebrate our 25th Anniversary and are so glad we chose the Hyatt, because we will definetly be back many times.
Ken sent champagne and choc covered strawberries for our 25th anniversary, which was a wonderful touch.
Our room was 3412, which had partial gulf view . There can be some noise from the garbage trucks at some mornings, but it did not bother us at all.
I do not sleep well ever, and it was a pleasure sitting on the balcony late at night having both a city view and a gulf view. The added plus is also having a beautiful sunset view right off the balcony!
Rooms are gorgeous, very spacious! The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is to die for, large shower, beautiful rain shower, water always hot. Comfortable large towels and all necessities needed, just bring a toothbrush! Hairdrier is the large ones, not the small ones attached at walls. The cleaning staff is very efficient and always brought extra towels.
Room service was excellent. Most mornings we ordered coffee, there is a coffee pot for your use if you choose that instead.
The bar area was great, the bartenders are happy great people and there is always a drink special. The restaurant, we only ate there for breakfast and the food was delicious and the view is perfect!
Location of the hotel cannot be more perfect! You have Duval a few blocks down, Harbor Walk right next door, Mallory Square another few blocks away and even if you want to go to the other side of Key West, the walk which is about a mile, is entertaining and very easy to do.
We rented jetskiis and bycicles from an outfit that was right in Hyatt and it was perfect!
Never had to use the car!
Checkout was quick and without any problems.Boarding passes can be printed from computer in the lobby.
We will make many more visits here, because there was not a single thing that I could possibly complain about. Everyone from Ken and Fred all the way down to the cleaning staff always had a smile and always greeted us, nobody was ever nasty.
Sadly I did not get to use the spa, but a few people we met there had used it and loved every minute of it.
Yes the hotel is compact but Key West itself is not a big place. We never found a problem finding a spot to lay out in the morning. Usually we would go walking at 8am and come back to the hotel by 10am and get some sun till about 2pm and then head out for some lunch at the Harbor, come back, hang out by the bar and then go out for the evening sunset celebrations. The pool is not big but it serves its purpose and there is also a hot tub. The turtle pond is beautiful and well maintained. Also they have a large HD tv off the pool in which you can watch sports late at night after the bar closes, which for us was wonderful. The bar has two HD Tv's. The bar was open from 11am to 10pm while we were there. There is many chairs to sit at throughout the hotel in which you can sit and sip a drink enjoying the gorgeous view.
A perfect stay to a perfect vacation!

Very very money location - next to Duval street and sea.

If you need a place next to sea and just want to relax, this is it. I will go back there again(if I get good price again!).

Just a couple of gotchas which are not really big but if you know upfront, you can be better prepared for it. 1) 12 bucks per day "Resort Fee" - The biggest Gotcha. 2) The Beach isn't really a beach, just a few feet of sand to get your feet wet 3) Interior seem to be targeted towards young generation.

But just check the price and get it. You can't go wrong w/ it. I will go back w/o any hesitation.

btw, when you are in Key-West and thinking about sunset cruise or something similar, check the boat type. If they are not powered (sail), they have high rate of cancellations due to unfavorable wind/weather conditions.

Review a little late but my fiance and I stayed here for a long Labor weekend Sept 2009 and my fiance is already talking about going back. The hotel and rooms are flawlessly clean and modern looking. Key West is not known for their beaches but the hotel has a tiny beach access which is great because after looking at other resorts it didn't look like they offered this. Pool is fine, only 3 feet throughout. Staff is really interested in making sure you have a great stay. Case-in-point, our room overlooked a parking lot/beach access where homeless people congregated and one afternoon a fight broke out. We called to alert the front desk and within 10 minutes a free bottle of wine and hand-written note of apology was sent up to us. Also at check out overlooking our bill, the bar overcharged us for our drinks and management removed them completely from our invoice. There were quite a few honeymooning couples we met on the property and on one of the nights there was a wedding reception going on in the main hall. About a 4 minute walk to anything you could ever want around Duval Street but the actual resort grounds were quiet. Overall it was a really great place

We visited Key West for four days in the beginning of December 2009 and stayed at the Hyatt Resort and Spa for 4 nights. This was my second stay and I posted a review also after the first stay one year ago in where I basically praised the hotel (and you will find me doing this also in this review) however last year the front desk staff where not as friendly as one would have wished. Guess what, this year they where absolutely wonderful and we loved the stay every part from the world class check in experience (thanks Libby for providing an excellent check in feeling for us!) to the tasty and exclusive breakfasts that we just loved so much (thanks Carina for excellent service and friendliness!) for those of you who consider staying here, this is what you get; a completely remodeled hotel situated right by the sea and with a true exclusive resort feeling. The rooms as lovely and large and have balconies. There is a heated pool and a very comfortable hot tub. We had a reservation for a partly ocean view room but were upgraded as platinum Hyatt Gold card members to a deluxe room with two balconies (one huge and one smaller) overlooking the lovely pool areas and with full ocean view as well! The beds are so comfortable and the linens (I know, I am all in to the details) where top quality and starched to make you sleep like a king/queen! The design of the bathrooms will impress you and they are large and feature a walk in rain shower, top quality towels and exclusive amenities. Our room had a Nespresso coffee brewer (I think the regular rooms have ordinary coffee brewers though) and we had our room perfectly serviced each day including a shut down service for the night. There is wireless Internet all over the hotel for a cost (free for Platinum Gold card members) and parking is an additional 12 USD per night which considering this is Key West where parking is very expensive is not too much I think. I tried their Spa this year and highly recommend! The Spa is truly unique and with great staff (thanks Erin and Jana, you are true professionals!) The hotel is situated just by all the fun and crazy action of Duval Street and Mallory square but still secluded and quiet. Don’t miss visiting Key West and spoil your selves by staying at this world class exclusive hotel where the staff makes you feel not only more than welcome but truly like if you belong! We will be coming back for sure! Many thanks again to the world class staff at the Hyatt Key West resort mentioned in this review ( and others not mentioned) who made our stay close to heaven!
