I thought the hotel was very clean and the rooms were simple and modern. The pool is less than 4 foot deep all around so it was a little warm. Its very close to duval street, but also close to a huge marina, were you can talk to boat captains about fishing trips and sunset cruises. I suggest you bring a little money if you want to experience key west fishing! Night fishing for shark costs about $600, but if you bring people who will chip in its not so bad. I did a split charter 3/4 day for $200. I really enjoyed it was worth the money, I just couldn't find anyone to split the night trip. I did alot of exIploring key west and I think the hyatt was the nicest there as far as hotels.

The Hyatt Key West Resort and Marina exceeded our expectations by far! We traveled to Key West to celebrate our 10 year anniversary without our children. We were attracted to the Hyatt because of its location and the reputation that preceded the Hyatt name. We were not disappointed! The hotel was extremely clean and well-kept. The staff was accomodating and friendly. The pool bartender was personable and creative - the concierge was efficient and informative. We were offered an upgrade to our room because of our anniversary and were given a beautiful room directly facing the Gulf with double balconies, a huge bathroom with a marble mosaic shower that had double shower heads, a plasma TV, an enormous, comfortable king-size bed and clean, fresh decor. The hotel also surprised us with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room on one night of our stay. We were a short 3-5 minute walk to both Duval Street and Sunset Pier. We took advantage of the jet ski company's tour of the island offered at the Hyatt and it was wonderful - fast and fun! We will stay only here when we return - this hotel is highly recommended!

“Loved the Hyatt”

Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa

I really liked this hotel. It’s a little expensive, but from what I can tell all the hotels are in Key West. The rooms were really nice, clean, and really liked the décor. We reserved a partial ocean view room. The 1st room they gave us we weren’t 100% happy with the view so called the front desk to ask if anything else was available. They moved us without any problems and loved the new view! We ended up in building 3 with a partial ocean view on the pool side. Loved it! We stayed 4 nights and the last night the hotel offered free beer, wine, and snacks at the pool bar from like 5 to 6. That was a nice surprise. Not sure how often they did that, but we only saw it the one night we were there. It’s a great location! We walked everywhere. This was my 1st visit to Key West and I really enjoyed it. It’s a charming little town. The Hyatt was perfect for us because it was quiet little get away from all the bars on Duval, and Mallory Square. Key West was the perfect mix of relaxation, water sports, and party. Loved it and loved the Hyatt! Would stay there again and recommend to anyone!

“Beautiful and modern renovations, but.....”

Renovations are a massive improvement for the Hyatt on Front Street in Key West. Obviously matching the South Beach style with water gardens, turtle sanctuary, modern baths with lots of glass, low lighting and soft "spa" music. However, the elevator was not working the entire week we were there and we had to walk up the stairs to our room on the 2nd floor. The resturant was pretty good, but an abundance of places to choose from across the street in the Historic Seaport. We had to get our bill corrected 4 different times due to over charging of "resort fees" that were included in our package. Pool is extremely small, but it is a small property. Balcony was too small to enjoy in the "Partial Ocean View" rooms. Much larger in the "Ocean Front rooms" and worth paying the extra $$. Rooms were very modern and a great improvement. I would stay there again, however, I prefer to try the "Westin" down the street first. Location was nicer at the Westin and so was the crowd....

My Husband and i were touring the Keys and spent 2 nights at the Hyatt. We booked in on arrival and had no problem booking a room. We even got to view the room before we made our booking. The staff on arrival were very helpfull and pleasant. It was quite expensive, but you definately got what you paid for!
It is newly refurbished, the room was wonderful very cosmopolitan, and the bathroom was amazing, huge shower, no bath though and twin basins.
The pool area was very nice, i would say it was more suitable for adults as we did not see any children around. There is a very small beach, but that is very typical of the Keys, it was adequate and we swam in the sea and out to the pontoon.
We had a meal in the the pool bar which was very good one of the best prawn salads i have ever had!!. Breakfast was menu choice{no buffet} very pricey, but again of very high quality. Probably would have been much cheaper to have eaten breakfast in one of the local restuarants.
The hotel is idealy located for walking to all of the tourist attractions, with lots of restaurants in close walking distance. A good way to see all of the sites is to take a tour on the Conch Train. A must is Mallory Square and the pier at sunset. Hemmingways House is very interesting as well.
We also did the Champagne Sunset trip on the hotels Yacht, well worth it the sunset was incredable, very well organised as well.
Just one word of warning we had a ticket to park in the Hotel carpark and when we checked out and tried to leave, the carpark ticket machine tried to charge us, its free for hotel guests! Over all an excellent stay i would highly recommend this hotel we had a fantastic time.
