My Husband and i were touring the Keys and spent 2 nights at the Hyatt. We booked in on arrival and had no problem booking a room. We even got to view the room before we made our booking. The staff on arrival were very helpfull and pleasant. It was quite expensive, but you definately got what you paid for!
It is newly refurbished, the room was wonderful very cosmopolitan, and the bathroom was amazing, huge shower, no bath though and twin basins.
The pool area was very nice, i would say it was more suitable for adults as we did not see any children around. There is a very small beach, but that is very typical of the Keys, it was adequate and we swam in the sea and out to the pontoon.
We had a meal in the the pool bar which was very good one of the best prawn salads i have ever had!!. Breakfast was menu choice{no buffet} very pricey, but again of very high quality. Probably would have been much cheaper to have eaten breakfast in one of the local restuarants.
The hotel is idealy located for walking to all of the tourist attractions, with lots of restaurants in close walking distance. A good way to see all of the sites is to take a tour on the Conch Train. A must is Mallory Square and the pier at sunset. Hemmingways House is very interesting as well.
We also did the Champagne Sunset trip on the hotels Yacht, well worth it the sunset was incredable, very well organised as well.
Just one word of warning we had a ticket to park in the Hotel carpark and when we checked out and tried to leave, the carpark ticket machine tried to charge us, its free for hotel guests! Over all an excellent stay i would highly recommend this hotel we had a fantastic time.

A excellent hotel with an outstanding view of the beautiful sunsets each night. When we arrived late in the evening we were informed that repairs had disabled all the elevators in our building and they would be out for over a month. They told us to contact the manager the next morning, which we did. He moved us to another building (This one had one elevator that worked. The rest were also being worked on) but everything else was fantastic. The grounds are beautiful and the staff goes out of their way to please. If you have health issues call and check about the elevators, just in case.

    • Liked — The view from the room and the bar. Fantastic!
    • Disliked — The elevator problem should make people with disabilities and older travlers cautious when booking a room.

We booked a block of rooms for a wedding at this newly renovated hotel, and our guests were so impressed! The rooms are so modern and clean!
The location is perfect, walking distance from many restaurants, bars, and Key West attractions. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the pool was beautiful, with plenty of shade provided by the cabanas. The pool bar food is even worth mentioning!
This hotel is well worth the price. It even has a tiny slice of beach, which in Key West is very hard to come by.
I have stayed at most of the major chain hotels in Key West and I would stay here again in a heartbeat! My favorite--the turtle pond right outside of the lobby.

“Disappointed”

Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa

We were disappointed with the room and amenities at this Hyatt given the cost of the room per night. The flat screen TV (used rarely) had annoying audio static and was inconveniently placed for viewing...the bathroom sink was without a stopper (to conserve water when shaving)...the toilet was positioned almost on top of the toilet paper dispensers...there was no ice dispensing machine on any floor of the building we stayed in...no complimentary morning coffee or tea items in the room (found in less expensive hotels)...the hotel bar drinks were quite expensive...the exhaust fan in the bathroom was useless...

And none of this might have mattered if the room rates were more reasonable. One saving grace during our stay was the friendly staff at the hotel and restaurant.

“Fantastic Hotel !!!”

Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa

We stayed here for 4 nights from 2nd May' 08.

Our room was fantastic although a little expensive at $400 p/night but we had a gulf front king with a fantastic view as you can see with our photos attached.

The pool was a little shaded late in the afternoon but all in all a very welcoming medium sized hotel.

Do not let the hotel fool you into thinking there is a beach though. OK, there is a beach but has just enough room for 4 beds on the sandy area but then if you fancy a dip in the sea it is there for you.
