Have just arrived back from a visit to Florida and spent three great nights at the Inn at the Keys.Key West.
Had read previous reviews and the good comments were all correct.
We booked a deluxe room which was on the first floor (second floor if from the USA) great with two double beds overlooking the pool area. The road side rooms could suffer from traffic noise.
The pool area is a sun trap oasis the best pool in all of the five hotels we stayed in during the holiday.
The breakfast ,which is not included , was good but I was a little annoyed the guy added a 20% tip for basically a self service breakfast.(in the UK we tip for good service not for saying good morning)
Ideal location, park up the car (free) and catch the local bus to downtown. The hotel shuttle is $23 per night per room. The local bus which stops at the shopping centre about 300yds from the hotel is $1 each way. (Save the money and buy yourself a nice meal down at the old boardwalk after seeing the brilliant sunset)

    • Disliked — The policy of including a 20% tip on the bill. (perhaps I'm just mean)

This hotel looks recently renovated and is beautifully maintained. The pool landscaping is outstanding - waterfall into pool and lush tropical foliage and flowers. Great poolside tiki bar with reasonably priced drinks (great strawberry coladas!). The deluxe room we stayed in was well furnished and spacious with a delightful garden veranda through a glass doorway. Classy all- glass walk-in shower with brown marble was huge. Breakfast buffet ($12) featured fresh fruit, omelets to order, and variety of pastries and breads served outdoors in garden setting. Staff were professional and helpful but not overly friendly. Location is a couple of miles from Duval Street action and that keeps it peaceful and relaxing. Wonderful view of ocean directly in front of property.

    • Liked — fabulous pool and garden
    • Disliked — pool closes too early (10pm)

“Great Stay”

The Inn at Key West

Apr 22, 2007

We enjoyed our stay at the Inn. The room was clean and comfortable with our own balcony. The pool was wonderful - the staff was very helpful. I would also recomend the lunch at the resturant at the Inn. We will stay there again!

I stayed with my girlfriend during the spring beak 07 at this hotel and we both found the stay very pleasant. Beautiful hotel and great pool area. The rooms are new, large and clean. We had a big flat screen TV in our room; the bathroom was clean and new. At this side of the island there isn’t beach, and walking to Old Town will take you long time. This hotel would be a great place for a quite staying. For beach, I advise you to book a room in the Sheraton Suites.

I think that is necessarily to have a car or to rent a bike.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Inn from March 31-April 1. We arrived in key West at 12:30pm and the front desk allowed us t check in early so that we wouldn't have to wait until the usual 3pm check-in time. We were supposed to share a room with my parents, but due to an illness it was just the two of us who made it. The room was quite small, so we realized it would have been very cramped with four people. The beds were very comfortable and all of the furniture looked brand new The grounds of the Inn are beautiful. The pool area is surrounded by palms so that you feel like you are in paradise and not at a hotel on a busy roadway. The pool also has a tiki bar with every kind of drink you could imagine.

The cafe at the Inn is nothing special. They are many other great food options in Key West, so don't waste your time there. We ate one lunch and one breakfast there solely because of convienece and both meals were below average.

The Inn is about 5 miles from Old Key West so it is necessray to take a cab. The Inn provies a shuttle for $17.50 per room/per day. A cab downtown is $12 + tip. We opted for the cab because it was easier than having to plan and wait for a shuttle. I feel that if you are paying the high price to stay at the Inn, the least they can do is provied a free downtonw shuttle, or lowwr the price a bit.

Overall, our stay was enjoyable. The hotel is very clean and the pool is awesome. We loved Key West and would probably stay at the Inn again, but I think I would prefer to be closer to the downtown area where all of the action is.
