Our family of four stayed in a large room for just one night (room 101). We did notice on checkout that this is a adults only resort and no children under 16 are allowed (our daughters are 15 and 18) The room had two queen size beds but one bed was broken at the foot end which didn't make for a comfortable nights sleep. The room and bathroom were clean and smelled good and there was complimentary coffee and shower gel/soap and shampoo.
Breakfast is included and served in a nice room and outside area between 8 and 10. Waffles, pastries and muffins were available as well as cereal coffee and orange juice, enough to get your day started. There is a nice pool and tiki bar but we didn't make use of these as we didn't have time. We had a nice welcome on check in and the receptionist called us a cab to take us into town after we were settled.
The only drawback of this hotel is lack of wifi in the hotel rooms, this was only available in reception and the breakfast room.
If you want a good value for money hotel that is comfortable then this is for you!

Don't expect a palace room, it is not. But considering the price paid versus key west prices, it is good value. The room are ok, bed confortable and relatively clean. Bathroom is clean but reminds you of a 60s house.

The garden / pool were very nice. The included morning breakfast is adequate and a nice touch.

You could walk to town in 30-40 minutes. The location is better than the string of hotels (including luxury ones) next to the airport.

There is ongoing construction work, but it was easy to find and access the hotel, I don't understand other people complaints about the difficulty of accessing it. There is signage on the A1A and on other roads to bring you there. Or ask your GPS friend !

This place has very outdated rooms, Beds are hostel type feel, very uncomfortable, felt like i was sinking into it. Ceiling fan made a strange noise had to turn it off. Holes in walls and no internet in rooms or Pool area.. How much would it cost to install a few routers?? Not much i know cause i used to do it.. For what i paid for the room $150 plus per night this place is a dump.. It is a $30-$40 room on mainland and so maybe in Key West $50-$60 room at most! Only good thing i can say about the place is no resort fee and good toiletries Bed bath& Beyond and free parking. Breakfast was waffles, cereal, and muffins, Not much for what i paid for this room.. Pay a little more and go to Sheraton is best tip i can give. I dont know who gave the reviews for this place as the best place is being paid to say so. Also their trips for scuba divers is a $100 more than the price i was quoted by the dive shop itself. So call yourself and save $100 bucks.

The Banana Bay Resort is certainly not the Ritz-Carlton. However, this resort provides the best value for a Key West vacation that I have yet to experience. Quiet, with a friendly staff and a nice little beach offering wonderful views. The pool area is wonderful as well. The rooms could certainly use some TLC, but, they are spacious and very clean. The bed's are very unique. It would be my suggestion to call ahead and request that your room have a private deck and poolside if possible. This is a resort that I definitely intend to return to. An additional suggestion would be to rent a scooter as the hotel is a bit off of the beaten path. We used Tropical Rentals as they offered the best scooter's for the price and have great early week deals.
