“Very cool and interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

The staff is excellent and let our family go on the tour after they closed. They are truly interested in everyone getting to see this ship and learn about it. It is a great experience and should be on everyone's list to visit and learn about our nation's history. This is strictly a voluntarily run experience.

“Brilliant WW2 ship.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

You don't have to be an expert on second world war naval history to soon appreciate this is an outstanding artefact. A relic of the battle of the atlantic and the war in the pacific, this long serving vessel makes for a fascinating visit. As I understood it, the US Coastguard is part of the navy in wartime and this cutter served in the same sort of role as a destroyer. The staff on board are extremely friendly and helpful. The car parking is excellent and free. A Warship isn't designed for easy access so anyone with mobility difficulties will be restricted in some areas. Internally the ship has plenty of fans to counter the temperature and the displays of memorabilia are comprehensive.

“The have a head onboard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

From the deck you can see the Atlantic ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Tight quarters for the crew. You get to see every nook and cranny of the entire ship.

“Impressive Museum on Coast Guard Cutter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

The museum is located on the boat itself and tells the story of the boat which was active for 52 years (the most decorated vessel of the US Navy). You learn about WWII, Vietnam War and about the role of the Coast Guard during these war times. The guide on location told very interesting facts as well. If you are interested in Marine history (or war history) you should definitely visit this museum!

“Hidden Jem of Key West!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

This isn't as popular of a Key West destination since it doesn't contract with the cruise boats, but it is a must-visit attraction. We brought our small children and elderly grandfather and we all had a wonderful time. They have the cutter setup very nicely for a self-tour.
