“A piece of history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

This ship has been on display since 1988 when it was decommissioned a lot of time and money has gone into preserving the ship and making an interesting floating museum - while I am not a "boat' person I found it truly interesting and well worth the 2 hours we spent on board

“Nice museam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

Im ex navy and have always had the greatest respect for the Coasties, They have an old cutter from WWII and they give a nice tour of the ship and an idea to those who don't know all that the coast guard does to ensure our safety on the water and in our country.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Amazing history behind this ship, very well decorated during war time and peacetime as well. The ship has been well preserved and you get a real world feeling going into the ship. Great museum, especially if you are a military or history buff or just like boats. The ship looks as if the crew just left and time stopped the moment they left the ship. You take a self guided tour at your own pace with no one rushing you along, take as many pics as you want. You can find the ship docked by Fort Zachary as you walk or drive toward the beach

“Very well preserved ship, both for old sailors and those who aren't”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

This cutter was well used, and when it was turned over to be a museum it was left fully functional. It's been a long time since it was moved, but, theoretically, it still can get under way. When you go below decks it still SMELLS like a ship. The exhibits on board give you a good idea of what serving on her really meant.
