“Excellent hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

I spent two nights here to discover Key West. The rooms are clean, cosy and comfortable. The hotel is well situated and it will take you only 2-3 minutes to reach Duval Street if you rent a bike (do it).
The pool area is clean and nice. Breakfast was ok.
I recommend this hotel!

The hotel was in a great location and was kept very clean. The service was great. The rooms were nice. Ours didn't have much of a view and was on the bottom floor but was fine. Breakfast was a nice touch and the pool was nice as well. There was a makeup removing towelette with the toiletries. I really apprecaited that- haven't seen that at a hotel yet.

Room Tip: As for a higher floor and depending on what you want the view to be (pool, street, parking lot).

We did a fair amount of research on places to stay before deciding on Silver Palms, and it paid off. This is a very nice, comfortable small hotel far enough off of Duvall to be isolated from the crowds, yet close enough to walk there comfortably.

The rates are a real bargain, compared to a lot of other inns and hotels. The rooms are exceptionally clean, light and comfortable, each with a small balcony. No noise from the street, or the other rooms. The small pool is a treat at the end of the day, and the free breakfast, while not elaborate, was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful, even loaning us umbrellas on our one rainy day. We greatly enjoyed our stay here.

Room Tip: We asked for a room on Margaret Street (quieter than the busier Truman Street) and were very happy w...

My partner and I spent three nights in this hotel in June and had a lovely time. Staff were pleasant Room was spacious and clean with a small balcony that allowed us a nice view of pool. Pool was small but adequate for the number of guests who were in hotel with us but hotel was not full.
breakfast was continental help yourself in a very small dining area so when bust seating may be an issue but again not for us through our stay. Food was fresh and choices reasonable Recommend the fresh fruit as everything was ripe to perfection and so sweet. Bikes could be hired but this hotel is a 5 minute walk away from Duval St so a better location would be impossible in this fabulous resort. Loved Key West 10/10 for Silver Palms. Good value.

Room Tip: Most rooms would overlook pool

Thank you so much for being our guest for 3 days! I am so happy we hit the mark as it is our goal to be a 10/10 every time with every guest. Thank you for mentioning our team and breakfast. We all work very hard and giving them a nod is so wonderful and a nice gesture. We hope to see you again when Key West calls to you! Jim Marquardt, GM

We are travelling 3 weeks with our 6 year old son - and had a standard of rooms between 100 and 200 usd - so we saw a lot in this category, and this hotel is woth the price!! You need to be aware that key west hotels are in general more expensive than elsewhere. But the silver palms had a good price for what we got. We had a room with pool view, ok indeed there is a parking lot around it the pool, but i did not bother, it was quiet and ere are plants, lounge chairs etc around it. Keep in mind that key west has not that much space, and we did appreciate the parking on site :-)
The room was super clean, the bathroom was great size, with no sticky shower curtain (ugghh i had them a lot in the last weeks!) . The bed was really really good! It was a bit harder than what you get usually in the us hotels, so it was wonderful for us! Ac was working good. Has fridge and microwave!! Enough space for us, 4 suitcases, and our son!
Staff was super friendly! Pool was also clean, and has a waterfall. Nice lounge islands, but the sun canope would need to be repaired! You get enough towels for the pool. It was quiet there. The balkony was nice to have a bed-time beer ;-)
Duval street in walking distance!
Breakfast was good, the had even fruit salat and chese amnd yoghurt ( but no omlette or bacon or sausage,,, but we did not expect, so that was ok!) the breakfast room in the lobby is a big small to cater the amount of guests. One remark, as hotel tries to be "greener" i would suggest to have at least marmelade and coffe milk in bigger cans and nit in plastic portions to avoid trash. The staff lady at breakfast was cleaning up very good!
Staff was really nice and helpful. We booked via booking.com and decided to stay another night, even though we had to cancel our next hotel in key largo (who charged us an additiomal 80 usd cancellation fee!!!!!) but it was worth it!!!
I heard that in 2 months or so a bar/restaurant will come into hotel!?
I would recommend this hotel to my friends, very high net-promoter score!! ;-)

Room Tip: Do the sightseeing in the morning, noon - then relax at the pool - the dont mis sunset at mallory sq...

We stayed two nights, from the arrival greeting from Serge at the front desk to the lovely young lady taking care of the breakfast and coffee we were very pleased with the whole hotel staff! friendly and helpful information. We also chatted with the manager at check out and again very friendly and helpful including sending us to Baby's coffee on marker 14 on the way to Miami. Again lovely, clean and great location.

For a total of 4 nights, the Silver Palms Inn was a great choice. We checked in on a Wednesday and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was nicely decorated with adequate appliances and conveniences. The water pressure in the shower was low, and the set up of the sink and bathroom door was not really well placed, but not horrible. The pool was a nice size, and after 3pm it was not busy. The continental breakfast was standard and left a little something to be desired- we only had breakfast one day. Very close to Duval Street and the nightlife. My only complaint is that a room key was needed to keep the power/AC on in the room. Florida is humid nearly 100% of the time, so we just kept one key running for the duration of our stay. Overall a great choice for the cost of staying in Key West.
