“Pretty Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2015

Stayed at the Navy Lodge but at the Truman Annex. The only con about staying here is that the front desk is not located at this location but at the Flying Navy further down the street. Other then that it is located at a great location not far from downtown walking distance and by nearby attractions. Also the lodging on Truman Annex is located on the beach so if your a beach goer that's a plus. They do have MWR located there for entertainment as well as to purchase tickets for trips, purchases for snorkeling gear, etc. A gym is also located nearby as well to get a workout in. The rooms were great bed and pillows very comfortable. Very spacious as well. One of the best on base lodging I've experienced. A sink, fridge, keruig, and microwave is in the room as well. Oh one more con the vending machine for drinks tend to take people money I don't recommend using. Overall great stay and price I recommend if in the area.

This hotel is a great value for the area. Spacious rooms have well-equipped kitchens with fridge and freezer, microwave, coffee pot, and almost any type of utensil you are apt to need. Clean rooms and a very courteous staff. Decor is a bit old fashioned, but clean and comfortable. Self-serve breakfast is nothing to rave about, but many other options are nearby. Well located and only a short trip to major area attractions.

Room Tip: Corner room would have less "bleed through" noise from adjoining rooms.

With little notice we were able to get a room and the staff was so helpful to add us to a wait list for a 2nd night. The room was clean, spacious and ideally situated on the base. Local cab company gets a little confused on navy lodge and navy inn and suites so travelers need to be specific. Will be back soon.

It is quite difficult to get a reservation in Jan, Feb or March. It does have handicapped room, but sadly it is not reserved for handicapped only but it should be. Sad that a DOD employee can get this room but not a chair bound wounded veteran. Also, a calendar of available dates should be posted instead of having someone trying to enter dates to check availability. I have come to the conclusion that getting a room is based on who you know. Really Sad.

Clean and quiet hotel, close to downtown and the price can't be beat. The walls in the rooms are a little thin, we could hear the TV in the next room until late at night two of the four nights we stayed. Having the kitchenette really helped as we could bring food home and warm it up.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving, and for the price, the Navy Lodge cannot be beat.

The room has two Queen size beds, a table with chairs, and a kitchenette (small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, sink, electric range).

The drive into Key West is less than 10 minutes.

A couple of things to be mindful of. We stayed in a room that was meant to sleep 3-4 people. But aside from the smallish toilet/shower area, there are no doors within the room that close. Changing clothes became a little awkward, as we were traveling with a teenager, who highly values his privacy. I found myself ducking into the kitchenette to change to stay out of sight.

Another aspect is noise. Some rooms have adjoining rooms, and we were in one of those. We had only taken one room, but someone had taken the other. Every time they were in or near the kitchen we could hear every single word they said.

Beds were comfortable, but the a/c was one of the loudest I have ever heard. I love white noise at night, but this was more of a low, machine hum. But it did the job.

I would definitely stay there again.

The rooms were great with a small kitchen area and table and chairs. For the price it was really great, only about 10 mins from the downtown area. I would recommend it. It is quick shopping right next to the PX and commissary. Great and quiet

Room Tip: It is off the main road in a really quiet area.
